It’s at that point. I’ve been reluctant because there are times (performance/sport driving out in the rural country) I will speed and I don’t want the footage being able to be used against me. But this driving today, in 2026, is so poor that a dash cam has basically become a requirement because everyone is a liar now. Zero accountability.

I have been reluctant due to the above but also because each windshield in my vehicles, has clear tint for UV protection. I asked my Best Buy installer and he said they attach them to the windshield. The other option is hanging it from the rearview mirrors but I already have radar detectors doing that.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

Yep. Here is one that I was at first threatened with an at fault. It was deemed no fault, he said she said because I couldn't the footage to pull up at the scene Stupid bitch ran, no registration and no insurance. I was able to get this to the officer the next day and he cited the other driver. Get your cams people

I sent this one to the officer that responded to the scene, without it, it was no fault. He said, he said

The Tesla is the only car I know of that has cameras all the way around and record.

If you don't have one yet. Get one. At least a front facing one.
All four corners is best, because people lie when faced with accountability. And a financial respnsibility.

I have a front/rear system in my Tacoma. I have had to use it once already. It was less than a month after I installed it and got rear ended.

NOT a very good lawyer if he's driving a Honda. In metro Detroit it's either a Mercedes or BMW.

I've stopped counting.

My new, last April, truck has cameras all around. They don’t record.
The first thing I do when I got it is install front and rear dash cameras.
I predict that all these nice vehicles with cameras will soon be able to record.
For GM I predict the Escalade followed by Denali Ultimate then Denali and then maybe SLT like I bought.

^^^^^^
That’s an interesting observation BOATTRASH. I’ve read that Teslas use camera image analysis, rather than radar/lidar, for FSD navigation. I’d bet they record too.

Serious about crackers.
