It's a lemon Danish wedding cookie. I'd rather have the Lemon Chalets myself, but they aren't bad.

I don't know the logic yet, but not every cookie is available in all regions. Observing the innards of cookie season, there's quite a bit of inefficiency, yet occasional brilliance. One was the Mobile Cupboard, a van full of cookies that was hitting the cookie sales booths around midtown/downtown Atlanta one weekend, keeping everyone in supply. Several festivals and what. It going on, getting back to your own car, wherever that was, could be problematic.

Being on the edge of Piedmont Park, on the path to/fro a beer festival, was quite profitable. Helped quite a bit to cover costs of the troop visit to Savanah.

They were set up outside of the grocery store and the Walmart.

Goddammit.

We don't buy 'em any more. We buy very few cookies, of any kind, any more. Besides: Last time we bought GSCs, we were not overly impressed with them.

Come to think of it: We buy very few dessert-type snacks of any kind, any more. The vast majority of them are loaded-up with all kinds of things--half of which appear to bear no resemblance to anything one might conceivably classify as "food," much less "good for you."

My wife makes great cakes, pies, torts, cupcakes and, yes, cookies. All out of Real Ingredients, as opposed to stuff some mad scientist chemists cooked up.

All the different local troops take turns each weeknight setting up shop outside the local commute train station. Every 15 minutes between about 5 and 7pm or so another several hundred to 1000 hungry prospects getting off the train heading home for dinner. Pure genius. They lured me in several times in the last week with their sales pitch

Very nice to have Mike Rowe as your dad's friend to plug your cookies on his podcast. I'm not familiar with any Girl Scouts but I assume 7k boxes @ 5$ a box is pretty good amount of sales for an individual. My sons Cub Scout pack sold 15k in popcorn among 40 boys. If the percentage of sales retained by the troop is about the same, that young lady's troop should have plenty of funds for outings and equipment for the next several years. Good on her. Although I have heard of some troops donating excess money to women's shelters etc.

If you watched the Mike Rowe videos in the thread...here is the rest of the story. After selling 26,000+ BOXES (yes, 26,000 BOXES) this little girl has disabled her website. She hit her goal of 300 boxes.

Girl Scouts/donors donated 12,000+ boxes to troops overseas...well played Girl Scouts.

Hmm...not bad. I might steal this idea for next year. It beats the fabric store.
