I finally have Zelle set up (I think), but haven’t used it yet, and have some questions.

* Does Zelle keep a record of recent transactions?
* If so, does that record list recipient name, address used (mobile number or email address), date, amount?
* Are you notified of the transaction result (success, pending, fail)?
* Must a mobile phone number have a US country code?

Thanks in advance.

* Probably, but not that I know how to access. Zelle is tied to my checking account though, so I do see the transactions there.
* Recipient name, some kind of account or transaction number, amount, and a date/timestamp. Different institutions may use a different set of information, YMMV.
* Yes, by text message. IIRC there's a popup message box in the app as well.
* Don't know about this one, sorry.

ETA: I went and looked and yes there is a transaction record in the Zelle app. It lists the name, date, amount and status (delivered, received, etc). My credit union only supports Zelle in their phone app, not on their web site, which I find annoying.

If you want to do a test to see the transaction detail you can send me a few bucks and I'll send it back to you. Email me if interested.

Be extremely careful!

Know exactly to whom you are sending $$ - not recoverable!!

Watch out for scammers! I do not send Zelle unless I confirm everything!!

^^ This is a non issue and I don't understand why people keep perpetuating this! It is NOT hard to know EXACTLY who you're sending money to here. The account owners name as shown on the actual bank account you're sending money to shows up as the 'Enrolled as' individual/entity when you either select or set up a recipient. This is all verified by the bank. If you're using Zelle from within your Bank's Online Banking application or on their website, you'll have NO issues.

Thanks for your offer, but Expert308’s amended post satisfied me.

The only unanswered question is whether or not a recipient’s phone number should have a US country code (+1) prepended.

I think tleddy’s advice is good. Some email addresses are lengthy – easy to mistype a character. If I want to send a significant sum to a new recipient I’ll send one dollar first, to verify that that address.

^^ Says the guy that’s NEVER used Zelle. Thrust me, it says right under the email address EXACTLY who you’re sending the money to! If you’re using your Bank’s Online Banking and you send money to the wrong account/person, it’s completely on you! You’d ‘almost’ have to do it on purpose!

If I knew what Expert308’s (or whoever) actual name was. And I’ve bungled more than one copy-and-paste operation.

Still, thanks for the info. And, yes, I’ve never used Zelle at this point.

I have Zelle and have been pretty happy with it although I did have an issue once but it was the senders bank not Zelle. When someone sends you money you get notified by text and email and it gives you the amount and the name of the sender. Like any other online banking app just be confident who you're doing business with before sending funds.
