I finally have Zelle set up (I think), but haven’t used it yet, and have some questions. * Does Zelle keep a record of recent transactions? * If so, does that record list recipient name, address used (mobile number or email address), date, amount? * Are you notified of the transaction result (success, pending, fail)? * Must a mobile phone number have a US country code? Thanks in advance. Serious about crackers.

* Probably, but not that I know how to access. Zelle is tied to my checking account though, so I do see the transactions there. * Recipient name, some kind of account or transaction number, amount, and a date/timestamp. Different institutions may use a different set of information, YMMV. * Yes, by text message. IIRC there's a popup message box in the app as well. * Don't know about this one, sorry. ETA: I went and looked and yes there is a transaction record in the Zelle app. It lists the name, date, amount and status (delivered, received, etc). My credit union only supports Zelle in their phone app, not on their web site, which I find annoying.

If you want to do a test to see the transaction detail you can send me a few bucks and I'll send it back to you. Email me if interested.

Be extremely careful! Know exactly to whom you are sending $$ - not recoverable!! Watch out for scammers! I do not send Zelle unless I confirm everything!! No quarter .308/.223

^^ This is a non issue and I don't understand why people keep perpetuating this! It is NOT hard to know EXACTLY who you're sending money to here. The account owners name as shown on the actual bank account you're sending money to shows up as the 'Enrolled as' individual/entity when you either select or set up a recipient. This is all verified by the bank. If you're using Zelle from within your Bank's Online Banking application or on their website, you'll have NO issues. ____________________________________________________________ If Some is Good, and More is Better.....then Too Much, is Just Enough !! Thanks for your offer, but Expert308’s amended post satisfied me. The only unanswered question is whether or not a recipient’s phone number should have a US country code (+1) prepended. Serious about crackers.

I think tleddy’s advice is good. Some email addresses are lengthy – easy to mistype a character. If I want to send a significant sum to a new recipient I’ll send one dollar first, to verify that that address. Serious about crackers.

^^ Says the guy that’s NEVER used Zelle. Thrust me, it says right under the email address EXACTLY who you’re sending the money to! If you’re using your Bank’s Online Banking and you send money to the wrong account/person, it’s completely on you! You’d ‘almost’ have to do it on purpose! ____________________________________________________________ If Some is Good, and More is Better.....then Too Much, is Just Enough !! ^^^^ If I knew what Expert308’s (or whoever) actual name was. And I’ve bungled more than one copy-and-paste operation. Still, thanks for the info. And, yes, I’ve never used Zelle at this point. Serious about crackers.

I have Zelle and have been pretty happy with it although I did have an issue once but it was the senders bank not Zelle. When someone sends you money you get notified by text and email and it gives you the amount and the name of the sender. Like any other online banking app just be confident who you're doing business with before sending funds.

I use zelle through my chase account and yes on the chase website will have recipient name, amount etc.. Yes, within seconds it will confirm it with a transaction #. Not sure on US country code, don't think so. ONE THING. Once you send a zelle payment, it's gone and can't be taken back. So make sure you know who you're sending it to and have phone number or email correct.

While there’s no doubt about who is getting the money, scammers will always find a way apparently. Here’s how I know: I’m not sure if it applies to everyone, possibly only if you’re above a certain age, but when I’ve used Zelle recently I have to answer several questions and it still gets reviewed. The questions are: do you know the recipient personally? What is the purpose of sending the money? Did you know them be social media? There’s a fourth question but I forget. I think they do because a good number of people gets scammed. And once sent, there’s no getting the money back. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." My bank uses Zelle. I have never used the Zelle app; only Zelle through my bank. When I go to my bank app and look at Zelle transactions, there is a history with date, amount, name, phone number, and a transaction ID. I am certain I get a notification when the transaction goes through whether I sent or received money. NRA Benefactor Life Member

This thread got me curious so I went and looked in the play store on my phone for an actual Zelle app, and it said there isn't one. Banks use an API of some kind to incorporate Zelle services into their own apps. So it's possible that different banks' apps might present Zelle and related information (like transaction logs) in different formats. But under the covers they're all the same.

Zelle was developed by banks to make it easy to send money quickly and securely domestically. It does not work outside the US banking system or for international phone numbers. I have used it many times to send payment to my lawn guy, as well as transfer money to my other bank accounts or family and friends. It has limits on amounts, I believe $2500, but not 100% sure on that. But larger amounts to pay would be handled better with ACH or wire. It is a great service offered by your bank, and instantly sends the money. Transaction history is easy to find on your online banking platform. I can access up to 18 months of activity. As long as the person gives you the correct email or phone number they have linked to their recipient bank accounts, you will be good to go. Most big banks should be part of the Zelle network. BOA, Wels Fargo, Chase etc. It's all about clean living. Just do the right thing, and karma will help with the rest.

Right. The Zelle app was ditched over a year ago, so you can no longer use it as a stand alone money transferring facilitator. Everything goes through participating financial institutions. Like StorminNormin, I’ve never had to use the Zelle app and just signed up for the service through my bank. Zelle is owned by seven big banks (Bank of America, Capital One, Chase, PNC, BankTruist, U.S. Bank, Wells Fargo), but there are over 2400 banks and CUs that participate in it. Chances are that yours is one. Q
