Rumors of a resignation are in the air... "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Confirmed: Gov. Greitens resigning as of Friday, June 1 @ 5pm Sad day for Missouri. "For now, we walk off the battle field with our heads held high." No reason was given for the resignation but... The announcement came hours after damaging testimony by a former campaign aide to a House committee investigating Greitens, and a separate ruling by a judge forcing the governor's campaign to reveal fundraising information. Rumors spread Tuesday afternoon after both developments that Greitens had decided to resign. Allegations surrounding Greitens led to an unprecedented split in Greitens' Republican party, leaders of which led efforts to impeach him. Earlier Tuesday, a Cole County judge ruled the governor and his allies must comply with two subpoenas from the panel seeking information about the nonprofit A New Missouri and his campaign fund — despite protests from Greitens' legal team. Circuit Judge Jon E. Beetem said the House committee investigating Greitens was within its rights to ask for the documents as it probes whether the Republican governor should be impeached and booted from office. "The Court finds the requests are within the authority of the requestor," Beetem wrote in his six-page decision. "The Court further finds and believes that time is of the essence and production should begin immediately and, absent good cause shown, said production should be completed by June 1, 2018." Based on the ruling, the House committee can expect to obtain communications between Greitens for Missouri and A New Missouri and policies "concerning coordination or communication between Greitens for Missouri and A New Missouri, Inc." A New Missouri will have to turn over receipts of paid media, content of paid media and communication regarding paid media. The non-profit will also have to turn over communications between the group and Greitens and his campaign. http://www.stltoday.com/news/l...a2-4c6ca010dc42.html "Some things are apparent. LOUIS — William Tisaby, the private investigator Kim Gardner hired against former Missouri Govenor Eric Greitens, has been charged with six counts of perjury and one count of tampering with evidence. Gardner hired Tisaby just days after Greitens admitted to having an affair back in January 2018. The court documents stated that Tisaby falsely testified that he never received materials or other information about the mistresses' interview from Greitens' case, despite the fact that they were in constant communication, Gardner provided him notes that he used as an outline during his interview. The documents also stated that Tisaby lied under oath under numerous additional accounts during the deposition. Tisaby's bond is set for $70,000. ______________________________________ More details, including how the city is still trying to protect this criminal: https://twitter.com/JacobLongTV/with_replies “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

For the record: I did not vote for Eric Greitens in the primary. I thought Catherine Hannaway would make a terrific governor... and we would have avoided all of this. Having said that... what was done to Greitens, particularly by Kim Gardner, was despicable... and purely political. "Some things are apparent. The left had to get to him so they could repeal right to work. Of course the Missouri State Republicans went after him too as he wasn't "their choice".
