I've got a 1600 round can of 9mm on the way, that's after dropping 500 bucks on defensive 9mm as well. Money drops in value, ammo goes up.

^^^^^^^. I’m with ya brother. I’ve had my inventory on an excel spreadsheet for years. Wish I could find some lost ammo, but I keep track of it too well.

I must have accidentally deleted my spreadhsheet several months ago and now cannot recover. Had info on all the guns, ammo purchases, rounds on hand, rounds thru each gun, etc. Not to mention my home inventory and knfe inventory. Mad

^^^ Otto, did I read that right on your BCM? Fuck me, my truck isn't worth that much. NV setup on an sbr?

I haven't bought ammo since the last panic. I know I need shotgun shells, but $.40/ round for birdshot at the local Walmart is nutty to me. I also don't have much in .45 colt or auto and no 357, 38sp or 44 mag. And 5.56 to feed these ARs I keep buying. I've always been buy a box or 2 when I plan to go shooting and then shoot it guy. Never kept much other than 22lr on hand.
Guess I know where 4th quarter profit sharing needs to go...

I don't know if this question should be in a separate post...

So, I like to have approximately 200 rounds set aside for each of my guns....

what is the number for the rest of you 'ammo hoarders'?

I on very rare occasions will tell someone this '200 round number' and then later in passing let slip that my ammo inventory runs between 14 and 16,000.

My stock is based on caliber, not number of firearms. I have never looked at it that way, hmmm.

I try to keep 5,000 rounds of each defense caliber and at least 500 rds of each hunting caliber.

Shotgun ammo, 5,000 rounds would weigh a LOT so I keep it about 1,000 rounds.

I keep a minimum of 2k per defensive rifle and 1500 per pistol. So family of 7, two kids to young so I keep 10k plus and 7k plus. If I need more than that I need help.

It is a pain; I have 12 flats of 12 and 20 gauge, and assorted boxes of shot shells. It takes up space, I have flats under my office sofa and other hiding places.

I was loading magazines on Saturday and was surprised at how much 9mm, .40, 12 gauge, 6.8 I had and how light I was on 5.56 and 223

Ammoseek I went and 1000 of Armscor 223 on the way for $479 shipped

BCM Tax stamp lower with a few modest fixins
Noveske switch block upper
Kahles scope with mount
Suppressor with stamp

5k might be a hair light to be honest, crazy how fast it adds up. The SBR game doesn’t even compare to the NV I recently got into. Talk about a money pit.

Still have the results of my Black Friday spree sitting in the living room waiting to get tucked in to ammo cans. You’d think 8,000 + rounds would take up more room. SG can make another boat payment thanks to me.

Waiting for my FFL to call soon to say my other goodies are in. Uppers are getting put together.

Then there’s the free stamp I got with that other thing.

I’m lucky, Mrs. BRL is 100% on board.
