Good deal on the 30 days. We're 90 here in PA and a friend in Maryland said it took almost two years.

Uncontested, amicably and cooperatively? The lawyer will appear normal but inside he's bummed.

More roommates than spouses.

Rogue, been there done that. When I read that, it described a situation I had living with a woman...but I described the last six months of living together as it was like living with a teenager. Yep, I was bummed it was over for about 5 days but I realized something in the next couple days; I was enjoying my life much more than I had with her for the last year.

I am sorry it didn't work out but it is good to see you are moving on. You will feel sad that it is over but I bet once you give it a couple days, you too will find you are enjoying your life much more than you have had in the last couple years.

Official as of 10:04 am today.

Now the final step is to get this house sold.

One nice side effect of the Coronavirus is that the entire divorce was done through affidavits and filings. No court appearance needed. Literally a rubber stamp divorce.

Nice. Flick that final booger off the finger (the house) and you'll be free and clear.

Enjoy it.

Congratulations brother. Enjoy your new beginning. I am contemplating on joining the group. Just can't decide if it is the right time, or if I still should try and save the marriage. I asked my wife yesterday to seek marriage counselling.

If you think it could be saved, it's worth trying. We did. But in the end, it wasn't salvageable.

Good luck with whichever path you choose.

We've finally locked in a firm closing date on our house with the buyer. That's the last thing tying us together.

And I just had my offer accepted on a new house nearby, with a closing date of the same day.

T-Minus 28 days to total freedom.

Life is good.

I’m glad it’s over.

My ex and I had about as amicable divorce as anyone I know. We lived together for about two years after deciding to divorce and acted so much like a married couple that most of our casual friends didn’t know we were divorcing. I was even fairly happy. But getting it all over and finally splitting up was a huge load off my shoulders. I am so much happier now.

My only issue is the kids. Her and I still get along great and split custody even with my crazy schedule but I still hate going to bed at night when the kids aren’t here. Thankfully you don’t have that problem.

My house has been on the market for months. We had a full price offer last month. Great! Goes all the way to closing date, hear nothing. Realtor calls and calls and calls the "buyer" to find that their financing fell through. Thanks for wasting a month plus of my time jackoff! Kept their $3000 deposit...

Rogue, I wish you the best. Not having kids makes all the difference in the world. I have a friend from residency who had two wives leave him, second one decided he would never amount to anything.
He went to med school, residency, owned an emergency physician company and a river rafting business that has expanded like crazy.
On the way he met his third wife, they had two daughters, still happily married after about 40 years.

I mention this because as we get older, not having a close companion is harder on men than women, believe it or not—men’s earlier deaths if they are alone has been shown time and time again.

Give everything some time, but fill your life with joyful things, like helping others.
God bless.
