Thank you.
I still scan the lounge for posts by Jim.
It's an old habit I'm having trouble breaking.

Let me join the chorus of thanks Doc. That was a beautiful bouquet and it's nice that Martine put it next to Jim's picture.

I attended the service. As I parked, I noticed a group of about 8-10 folks talking in the parking lot. This was a half hour before service. One gentleman motioned for me to join the group and they all introduced themselves. These men and women were Jim’s classmates from elementary through high school. I’m 70. They were Jim’s age, about 3 yrs older. Very open and friendly bunch as you would expect in a small Texas city. They all had the utmost respect for Jim or “Mickey” as they knew him. They all had stories. Quite the guy and determined even in his formative years.

During the service, His son, nephew and brother all descibed a quite remarkable fellow.

I was lucky to have met him for lunch several times at a Mexican restaurant located between our towns. I was always enthralled by his stories and observations.

I briefly spoke to his wife and told her that I became aquainted with Jim through the forum. Her eyes lit up. Apparrently she was well aware of the forum. It must have been important in his life. She said first thing every morning he was on the computer composing his forum contribution. Great family and just plain nice folks.

I already miss his comments. RIP.

Thank you for including the rest of us in your selfless gesture. I wish I had done it but it did not occur to me. I thought about Jim and his family on Saturday while travelling through Idaho. I passed Arimo on my way North and thought of Sappersteel too. He was from Arimo. My thoughts wandered from him to Jim and some others we've lost over the years.

Maxdog, you’re the man!
If you have anything else to post regarding the memorial service, we’d all be glad to hear it.
I’m very happy you were able to be there for us.
