Why are they not standard equipment on new cars now? I’ve always wondered that.

Look at these scumbags all pile out of their POS car holding their heads like they’re injured, then Chief Scumbag realizes they have a dash cam:

Been running a dashcam for almost 20 years now, used to drive over the road. Had a tour bus swerve into me outside D.C., just let the other driver talk to the trooper first. Then with a big shit eating grin I asked the trooper where he wanted me to upload the video. Trooper looked at other driver and asked him if he wanted to revise his story. LOL

I run radar and speed in the rural country (no or very little homes) so I refuse to mount them on my bikes or performance car as they could be used against me. But the truck and DD both need them for shit like this. Fucking scam artist trash. They have newer ones with front and rear facing cameras. I hate that I’m going to have to spend $ on this bullshit but that video is real. The amount of poor driving on the roads now warrants them.

This didn't even happen to me and I'm upset. I want to punch that lady in the mouth. All I can think of is this happening to my mid 70's parents and I'm livid.

This is unacceptable and they should be charged with endangering, attempted murder whatever. Just a "traffic accident" citation is not enough.

Wow! That is insane and yes a dashcam will be huge for saving so much heartache with that incident. I have a dashcam in both my personal and agency vehicle.

The first dashcam I ever got was from on this forum and it is what I have in my agency issued vehicle as they don’t supply one. I have a new dashcam in my personal truck and need to add a rear camera since it has the option.

I have caught crazy stuff on my dashcam, but something like this video is where it is super important. They are not that expensive so they are worth having one.

Think about how many big truck (large heavy loads) have had this happen and their company gets sued when it was not even the truck drivers fault.

Guessing most if not all large truck drivers now have multiple dash cameras in their rigs just to keep them from losing everything because of someone trying to get a big payoff.

YouTube is full of these videos. I've put it off - as well as a backup camera as my car has very poor visibility to the rear - but probably should get one myself. A separate camera or at least a lens needs to face toward the rear, as I have had three rear-enders in two different vehicles.

We have a garmin mini2, you can slave another to it as a rear view camera and it plays on an app in your phone. It’s so easy even I installed it and can run it.

I bought this one from Walmart to have in the Corvette as people like to crowd me. I liked it so much I bought a second for the Explorer.

Ignore what it says about needing the hardwired adaptor 'not included'. That is only if you want the always on parking protection feature enabled. It comes with everything you need for normal use. Under $50.

Sad the way things have gotten. And I don't mean insurance fraud, but rather that I'm sitting here wondering if it's real or a setup for Tik-Tok views. That's sad, but that's where we are.

The new vehicle that I just got last month has an upgrade to the back-up camera -- it has 360° view cameras that are great for maneuvering in tight spots. The higher trim levels of this vehicle have a slot for a memory card for these cameras.

I have a 4 lens camera. Front, rear and both sides.

I had a camera long before you could buy one.
It was a handy cam mounted to the dashboard.

This was yesterday on my drive home.
It's biker season now and may don't pay attention here in the mountains.

I see no indication of any view or other cue that would have shown your brake lights, activated or not, for such a situation.

ETA: in a different thread https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...400024115#4400024115 you posted something that might do that, but the eBay link is dead.

I have had dash cams in both my vehicles for years now. I run both front and rear and mine are powered by OBDII so they run even when the vehicle is off.
