Quick summery. I am a Lung Cancer Survivor from 2009-2010. Been Cancer free since middle of 2010. I am having hard time catching my breath at doing very mild exertion. Had a CT Scan in March with dye this year and it showed no Cancer but lung disease had advanced. Was referred to the Pulmonary Doctor I seen thru the cancer battle. Before I could get to see him. I wound up going to ER for breathing problems. This is all how it started with the Lung Cancer find. ER did another CT Scan with dye and chest X-ray. Put me on Prednisone and told me to get to the Pulmonary Doctor Soon. Pulmonary Doctor but me on a longer dose of prednisone with a taper off and some inhalers. Ordered two Pulmonary function tests. Test shows something blocking airway. Referred to the Thoracic Surgeon I seen when I starting the cancer battle. She showed me on the CT Scan there is something where the tumor was and she cut a small piece of it away back then and stented my airway beginning the cancer treatment. She said she really does not think it is cancer for it has been to long since I was cancer free. She thinks it is scar tissue or some growth from the area she cut away and the radiation treatment. Well I am going to the Hospital this Thursday for outpatient laser removal of whatever it is and send it to pathology. She said it may take a couple of procedures to remove it all. I hope she is right. I have good faith in her words for she is the Head Thoracic Surgeon at the hospital and a Thoracic Cancer Specialist. It is one of the best hospitals in California.
