It behooves the US to form strategic partnerships with Russia if for no other reason than China is. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Exactly. Cool, Russia has a lot of resources, cool, Russia has (allegedly) a shitload of nukes. But still, they haven't been able to take Ukraine, they've just wasted a lot of blood and treasure beating off into a meatgrinder, and that's who we're gonna align ourselves with?

Russia is a looser country under the control of a mafia like collection of mega-business interests headed by Putin. Putin will one day go but the underlying collection of power will remain. US should never consider joining forces with this mob. US should double down on the future of warfare. Ukraine is the test of drones and their application. US needs to modernize its electronic, air, water and land warfare approach. U.S. Army 11F4P Vietnam 69-70 NRA Life Member

If China ever wants lots of natural resources, land, and zero world response… Eastern Russia/Siberia is theirs, unless Russia deploys nukes.
