BREAKING: NYT reports that operatives with Democratic Alaska U.S. Senate candidate Mary Peltola’s campaign were behind the effort to find & recruit a candidate named Dan Sullivan to run against incumbent GOP Senator Dan S. Sullivan in an effort to confuse voters and peel votes from him.

Specifically, NYT says they have reviewed text messages and documents that reveal in summer 2025, a Peltola staffer received instructions from campaign staffers to find as many people named Dan Sullivan in Alaska as possible.

The staffer complied, going through voter records, and compiled a list. The operation “involved secret trips to far-flung Alaskan communities and the appearance of a mysterious Midwestern operative, who traversed the state using a fake name and made his pitch to would-be candidates over beers at brew pubs.”

Per NYT:

“The plan worked. This spring, a retired teacher from a tiny fishing village along the Alaska Panhandle, reachable only by air and sea, announced his candidacy for Senate. His name was Dan J. Sullivan.”

Yeah, the fake candidate Sullivan smelled like shit from the start. No political experience, I wonder if his bank accounts show a trail from the Peltola campaign. Ranked choice voting has been a thorn in Alaska's side for years, the only reason Lisa Murkowski exists.

Every article I have ever read about someplace that had ranked choice voting has been a cluster.

Lisa Murkowski is the reason for Alaska’s ranked choice voting. She feels entitled to her seat. IIRC her father preceded her.

And then in critical votes she votes against Republican values.

I hope Alaskans can straighten this out soon.

We had it straightened out in the last election, but then ranked choice voting kicked in. Murkowski finished 2nd in the general election behind Kelly Tshibaka. Since neither candidate had a 50% +1 majority, ranked choice and counting 2nd choices was triggered. The less than 10% who voted for the democrat Patricia Chesbro had their 2nd choice as Murkowski and that’s how she got elected in her latest campaign.

The woman never has never been elected by a majority vote. She may not be the reason for ranked choice but she certainly has benefited from it.

Confirming what everybody has suspected. Fake Dan Sullivan has not made any public appearances and turned down all media requests for interviews. It really has turned into a shit show, DOJ has filed a lawsuit trying to disqualify him but early voting has already started.

It has been an absolute cluster in Alaska. The law was written by a liberal from Colorado and backed by a lot of money from outside the state. It was billed as returning power to the people and limiting the influence of the 2 party system. That’s how it got voted in.

Alaska has a very independent attitude in politics, we’ve got legalized weed and constitutional carry. We take freedoms from both sides of the aisle and don’t really like either party telling us what we should and shouldn’t do. That was part of the appeal of ranked choice, giving the middle finger to both parties. It hasn’t worked out that way. I was very suspicious of it and voted against it.

So what has it gotten us? Mary Peltola got elected to her first term in the House with only 37% of the vote. It was a 4 way general election between republican Nick Begich, democrat Mary Peltola, republican Sarah Palin and independent (actually a democrat) Al Gross. Gross dropped out and endorsed Peltola immediately after the primary election. Palin was 3rd in the polls and refused to drop out of the race making it a 3 way between 2 republicans and a democrat. None of the candidates received a 50% +1 majority so ranked choice voting was triggered and Peltola got a lot of second place choices from the, “Anybody but Palin” mindset. So we got a US Representative that 63% of the voters did not want. Peltola got absolutely spanked 2 years ago by Nick Begich and lost her seat. Now she has returned to run for senate and is backed by a lot of out of state money in advertising.

Our primary this year for governor had 16 candidates. Why? Because there is no longer a convention to nominate candidates and anybody who gathers enough signatures can get their name on the ballot. The result is now headed into the general election there are 3 republican candidates and 1 democrat, a Yale dropout from Wisconsin who has never held a private sector job. Don’t really need a crystal ball to see where this is headed…

And now we have confirmation of the Peltola campaign being behind Fake Dan Sullivan trying to rig the election in her favor. I don’t like her, my dog growled at her and that’s reason enough for me not to vote for her.

There is a ballot measure again this year to end ranked choice voting. There is a ton of out of state money flowing in for advertising trying to defeat it. Very misleading I; their statements of keeping elections, “Fair” and guarding against, “Outside dark money”. It was tried 2 years ago but the ballot measure in the way it was written was confusing to the point where it was hard to tell if voting yes or no was going to get rid of it and it remained I; place by a very slim margin.

So to all members, if ranked choice voting ever comes up as a ballot measure I; your state, vote against it!

“Updated 07:00, 29 October 2026

Alaska’s Republican governor has ordered an investigation into Democrat Mary Peltola’s Senate campaign over an alleged plot to plant a decoy candidate on the ballot, just days before Election Day.

Governor Mike Dunleavy said on Wednesday night that investigators would examine whether the campaign should face criminal charges or civil penalties. It comes after The New York Times revealed its role in recruiting a retiree named Dan J. Sullivan to run against Republican Senator Dan S. Sullivan.

Dunleavy warned on X that duping voters into backing the wrong man is an attack on the heart of election integrity, and that anyone who broke the law will be held to account. …”

This election in Utah we have 2 citizen initiatives on the ballot which are getting huge out-of-state dark money opposing them. Lots of bots or humans falsely posting online as residents. Same kind of line that defeating these initiatives will prevent a legislature power grab and retain power to the citizens.

Which is pure BS, but they're using scare tactics and also playing on widespread dissatisfaction with outside big money influencing the legislature. All financed of course by that very same outside business and leftist political interests, who want to keep the taxpayer gravy train running.

State and local politics is getting ever more corrupted by non-local monied interests.

Here in MO, Amendment 6 would make it even easier for non-local monied interests.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Look how Democrats downplayed fraud in 2018-2020, “election fraud never happens.” Then that evolved into ”there is no widespread election fraud, it never changes the outcome of elections anyways” Then that evolved into ”election fraud is widespread and both sides do it all the time. So what.” And now- ”look how smart we were in our fraud in AK, it show how shrewd we are.”

The Demoncrats are throwing everything they can into the U.S. Senate races in AK and TX, they do anything to steal the senate.

Assuming everything reported is 100% true. What's the remedy, now that 58,000 ballots have been cast?

Do you count them and see if the fake Sullivan had any bearing on the outcome? I don't know that Alaska law allows for a do-over or vote nullification. If Peltola wins, does Alaska allow the win to be taken away if the vote isn't certified?

It's a bit of unchartered territory but if there isn't hard crackdown, it will happen again.

Last question - The NYT broke the story but what about the dolts in Alaska, especially the real Sullivan? No one thought to say, "Hmm, this doesn't look right, does it?"

Exactly.
The news is not that Dems cheat, and MANY parties have been pointing out that this was a sham and scam (big one being WSJ), but the news is that the NYT printed it?!?!?! (Or didn’t wait till after the election to print.) And surprise, surprise, all of a sudden many outlets decided to talk about it - having gotten permission.

We first learned of these shenanigans months ago, when doing something about it was a possibility. But yet, only now, a few days before an election when nothing can be done about it, is it a big story and everyone from the DOJ to the Governor of Alaska is "looking into it". Roll Eyes

A few more of these are necessary: Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Nobody wants free, fair, and secure elections people, NOBODY...except the voters...the marionettes at the bottom of the strings. It's all just a game to keep powerful people in power.
