| As for the PTSD, there is no record of David Long being treated for PTSD. The VA has no record, neither do the Marines. Back in the 1980s a paper near Ft. Lewis would often run crime stories with the notation “a former soldier at Ft. Lewis.” It didn’t matter how long ago it was or how brief their service. The “former Marine” seems to be the modern version.
