We're not allowed to comment in the various meme threads, but every so often one is shown that I don't understand (I don't get out much). So I'm posting one here and would like someone to explain it to me. I didn't get this one, either Thanks. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

The disappointment you feel when you stick your hand into a bag of jerky thinking there's one more piece left and you pull out the desiccant instead The first video that showed on MTV was Video killed the Radio Star Stalin Killed them "Blessed is he who when facing his own demise, thinks only of his front sight.” Malo periculosam, libertatem quam quietam servitutem Montani Semper Liberi

The meme with Stalin refers to a song from the 1980s "Video Killed the Radio Star". __________________________ More blessed than I deserve. http://davesphotography7055.zenfolio.com/f238091154

I understood the joke, though I don't know who the dead guys were. I had to google "Polk High 33." That was Al Bundy's HS football number. . . Fear God and Dread Nought Admiral of the Fleet Sir Jacky Fisher

Those would be Nikolai Antipov (left), Joseph Stalin, Sergei Kirov (right), and Nikolai Shvernik (far right), in a photo taken at the Fifteenth Leningrad Regional Party Conference in 1924. Shvernik actually survived Stalin, but the sequentially airbrushed photos hanging in the Kremlin looked like this, left to right as the flanking comrades physically disappeared as well: This message has been edited. Thanks, everyone. I couldn't tell what that was he pulled out of the jerky bag (print was too small) and none of the jerky I ever bought had a dessicant in it. I also have never watched MTV so never heard of the song. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

Night time driving is the worst time for this, to the point that if possible I seek out the dessicant bag and throw it out before I eat much. ________________________________________________ "You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. Ok, I'll play. I don't get this one: Or this one. Other than those, I have done pretty well with that thread, considering I am an apprentice proto-geezer. I took a snippet out of it to make the .gif. To make themselves look all "herky-jerky" it was filmed in slow motion then sped up.This message has been edited. Last edited by: egregore,

It just popped into my head while watching old NCIS reruns (I haven't read any of the responses yet)--it's an old "Lang" sign (Old Lang Syne). Very clever. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

Hela was the main villain from Thor: Ragnorok. She tried to conquer Asgard (Thor's home), and was succeeding until Thor ordered Loki to release Sutur (some giant planet-killing monster) who ultimately destroyed Asgard and killed Hela in the process (Hela tried to kill Sutur but failed). It's a satirical play on events, just like the "Good Guy Palpatine - eliminated unemployment on Aalderan)" memes. . . Fear God and Dread Nought Admiral of the Fleet Sir Jacky Fisher

Thanks guys. Makes sense now. "I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . .
