I can't wait until I can take him that bowl of seafood gumbo with oysters he wants. I think the last time he was able to eat was Feb.17

Thanks for asking. I just talked to him on the phone about an hour ago. He's doing better his voice is a lot stronger. They are working on getting him where he can eat again. He still has the feeding tube in since about Feb. 16 he's ready to start eating our good Louisiana food again. We hope it will be soon. He's missed Crawfish season.

Drill Sgt's computer was ordered today. I went with a custom build from HP for a 15 inch machine, which is the same make and size as his old one.

It was impossible to find what I wanted online, so I went with HP customer support 4th July Sale, and Veteran's discount.

We got Drill Sgt. a nice machine for a decent price, with a good battery that should last him for a number of years. I would have preferred to find one with 16GB of RAM, but with the current cost of RAM, it just wasn't there. 12GB should be fine for what I understand his use will be. It will ship on 7/22 to Charlie12 and deliver between the 27th and 31st. Charlie will then hand deliver to Drill Sgt.

Drill Sgt had a Dr appointment today for some more speech therapy trying to get him back eating. He told me tonight he can taste that seafood gumbo he's been wanting.

Drill Sgt got some great news today. He's been wearing a deliberator vest since February. He went to his Cardiologist today and was told he could take it off and didn't have to wear it anymore. Now if they can just get him where he can eat again.

God is answering our prayers.

This is Drill Sgt. hobby that he's been doing for a long time. He makes these key chains with the Vietnam service ribbon colors to give to Vets and their families.

After a long wait for the machine to be built in Taiwan, Charlie delivered a brand new HP to Drill Sgt. today.

Hopefully, once his daughter and granddaughter get him set up, he will be back with us.

I AM BACK... And above ground watering the flowers from above ground rather than fertalizing the flowers from underneath.... ___________________ My true thanks go out to the entire family here on Sig Forum ...DO NOT KNOW where to start and if i start nameing names someone will be left out. .... Update... on Saturday 15th got a call from Charlie 12 to step outside because he was in my driveway because he was deliverinng a package for me.... Fellows you could have physically knocked me down with a feather.. After charlie 12 got thru explaining who /what /and when the package came from and who was responsible I really did not know what to say....other than to THANK Everyone in the board family for this suprise.... The members on this board are AWESOME..... Mid January went to my local VA Clinic for a wellness check and was basically told to GET MY ASS ACROSS THE STREET to a local hospital for resperatory problems and was admitted into hospital..... Well later the doctors explained to me that I had been one sick puppy when i got to the hospital and I had not realized my medical issues...... Carotid Artery 80% blockage (roto rooter clean out)... Fluid on lungs (removed 1 1/4 liter of fluid).... 4 way Heart bypass (the cabbage) was at less than 15 % now back up to 45 % ..... little left toe amputated due to a infection....... Feeding (PEG) tube due to swallow issues following surgery..... Went into 2 different rehab facilities......... Finally got home on 13th April......While all of this was going on the wife went down both physically as well as will to get better....But all has changed now and she is doing much better...Thanks to the doctors at both the VA and Community Care she has lost 85 lbs weight and health improving............. As far as the feeding (PEG) tube in stomach the swallowing is improveing and soon after gaining and holding some weight then the PEG tube can be removed............................ As Charlie 12 had stated earlier both myself and the wife are US ARMY Veterans (Vietnam Era) 9 1/2 years for me and 8 1/2 years for the wife.. And my screenname came from my 3 years serving as a Field Artilley Drill Sgt. at Ft Sill, Okla in the early 1970's(Field Artilley Howitzers and Pershing Missle)..................................... Back on subject.... Must say THANK YOU to the Sig Forum.... To all the thoughts and prayers during my down time.... And to those that participated in provideing the laptop as well as those who followed the orignal posting......
