I recall the headlines just prior to September 11th 2001 were rife with the media lynch-mob, persecuting some USAF pilots for a low flyby that was made which was, reportedly, too low. Then America found out who the enemy was, and that was the end of that line of inquiry.

Love them. Had an F22 fly over the Bucs game yesterday. We always have good ones with McDill AFB nearby. ___________________________

When I was in the PA Air National Guard, I got to go to a practice run of a big Air Show they used to run regularly at NAS Willow Grove, with the USAF Thunderbirds and the USN Blue Angels. This was open to all Guard/Reserve and family/friends and was awesome because it was like a free show without all the insane crowds. The Thunderbirds were the headliners that year. At one point the Thunderbirds were doing some fancy maneuver and flew away then FLEW BACK OVER US from behind the grandstands so that we had our backs to them, caught us all off guard. They were so low it felt like you could jump up and touch them and I nearly fell over! It was crazy loud and amazing.

Not truly 'fly over', but early AM I was driving from San Francisco to Las Vegas, driving through the desert, convertible top down, when 3 fighter jets, in formation, flew right over the top of my car - at what appeared to be a few hundred feet. Scared the crap out of me but at the same time was beyond exhilarating to watch. Closest I've been to any warbird.

Yes, love them. Got to attend two air shows last year. Saw the Blue Angles and the Thunderbirds. But the coolest might have been the F-22. A few years ago on a cruise I was on the top deck, along with a bunch of other people, watching people play on the Flowrider when some sort of military jet buzzed us, very low and very fast. I had happened to look up right as he was approaching. When the sound hit, nearly everyone on the deck wet (or worse) their pants. The plane was nearly gone and out of sight before most people realized what had happened.

I was at an airshow not long after 9/11 that had two B-1Bs fly over with full after-burrners on. Car alarms went off, children were crying, dogs freaking out. It was glorious.

. I love fly overs. Had the pleasure of watching the Blue Angels practice two weeks ago while on base for a meeting. We were pretty close. The smell of the marker smoke reminded me of 3 & 1 oil used to make toy trains smoke.

The best one I have personally witnessed was this one, at a Georgia Tech football game in 2009. Both pilots were GT alums and I believe they were permanently grounded because of their altitude. I happened to be sitting in the upper north stands that day (the section the planes first fly over) and it seemed like I could have reached up and touched their bellies. I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log.

I was in Lower East for that game. I remember coming out from under Upper East and thinking “Damn, those guys were low.” -- I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. JALLEN 10/18/18 https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...610094844#7610094844

Grandiosity is a sign of mental illness |
Once when I was a kid there was an airshow pretty close by. I was riding my bike on the street in front of my house when an F4 did a very low very high speed pass right over my street, my house, and me. I was surprised enough to fall over. One of the most awesome things I've experienced.

For years I lived pretty darn close to Oceana’s Auxiliary Landing Field. The Jet noise and low flying fighters never bothered me one bit. The sound of F/A Hornets and Super Hornets flying day and night and often shaking the house becomes normal after a while. That was a great fly by! My brother and I would often see Hornets coming in low over near the canal bridge near Fentris field. Our surf trips to VA Beach took us down a road pretty close to the field so over the years we got to see lots of Hornets pretty close up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

I'm lucky to have V22, Blackhawks, Chinooks overhead and F35 off to my east. Those V22 in hover in 6 squad shakes the condo good. I think the fighter head to Arizona and the Helos and V22 go to 29 Palms.

Had the good fortune to be driving I-90 as one flew over me. My god what an experience, thought my truck was exploding. ----------The weather is here I wish you were beautiful----------

^^^ Yeah, some years ago I was driving I-40 Westbound, I was between Amarillo and the TX/NM border. There's a spot west of Amarillo where I-40 drops down, sort of a canyon I guess, then rises back up. It's a little steep but it isn't long at all, really short, but fun. Not much of a canyon really, sort of a large ditch LOL. I started to hear a roaring sound and looked out my drivers side window and saw 2 black dots haulin' ass right at me. They were not high at all, I can't estimate height above ground, maybe a little below a thousand feet I think. Within just a few seconds they blew past me. They were going from my left to my right, so they were heading North from the South direction. Dyess AFB in Abilene is not too far away so I assume that's where they came from. They were a flight of 2 B1's. .

Living less than 50 yards from the fence at Eglin AFB, I get an air show basically every day. F-35s, F-22s, F-16s, F-15s, occasional T-38, numerous C-130s, V-22s, occasional Hueys or Blackhawks. I’ve even seen Hinds flying around here. Not to mention the private jets on approach to Destin.
