Two weeks ago at the Bengals game. EVERYONE jumped and I mean EVERYONE!!!
We were running a little late so we were on the open portion of the concourse across from where this video was taken. These dudes were CRAZY low above the stadium. I believe they were 2 F18s. The home opener against the Steelers and they had 4 F18s (I think) and it was not nearly as loud as these two fellas.


Today’s flyover was 3 A10 Warthogs. Not nearly as impressive but that’s ok still great.

I do. Once in awhile we get one or two over our house but no many at all.
The cool flyover is at the Pendleton (OR) Round up. My last visit was before kung-flu. The fly over was F-18s from the Air National Guard. They come out of nowhere faster than snot then return and go straight up. Makes me feel like 11 again.

I saw this on the News. Few years back there were 6 Hornets coming north up 75 to do a fly over for baseball game. I understand 5 were in the fly over formation. Nicest view I've yet seen of the A 10 was over Brookville, IN. Noone at the Flea Market noticed but me.

just love the fly overs with the military aircraft.... Does not have to be the most current and fastest... even enjoy the vintage W W II / Korean / Viet Nam / Desert Storm etc/ etc. ...... What I enjoy most is when they fly the missing man formation. That gets to me every time. ...In the early 70"s at Ft. Sill / Lawton, Okla was riding a motorcycle on a street that was perpindicular to the runway just as a C5A Galaxy lifted off the end of the runway less than 100 yards away right over my head causing me to head straight to the house and change my underwear and pants. .................................................................... drill sgt.

B-1B flyovers around here are extremely impressive be they at Sturgis during the Rally or over Mt Rushmore.

They got in trouble years ago when they went supersonic locally at low level and broke a shitload of windows. LoLoLoLoLoL

Afterburner take offs at dusk/night are spectacular too! They'll shake every bone in your body!

Yes, they were low and fast. But those were F-5s. Still cool though.

We have the 148th fighter group based nearby in Duluth Mn. They fly the F-16CM I believe. They do much of their daytime manuevers up near our lake place. They are often flying around for a hour or so but it's hard to always pick them up but you can see the flares when they release them. One of the pilots or his parents live on the lake as well I'm not sure which but a couple times a summer they will do a damn near tree top level fly by.

You never know when it's going to be so when you hear them coming you better be heads up because they are here and gone in the blink of a eye.

I read that there's ground personnel at sporting events who try to coordinate with the pilots so the flyover occurs during the lyric, "home of the brave."

The anthem singers often drag out the verses as part of their performance interpretation - the OP's case being a perfect example.

Yes, Aggressors. F-5s because of the wingtip rails. To my knowledge T-38's don't have them.

Yes, there's at least one other pilot with a radio perched high either in or on top of the press box coordinating the flyover. Before the event the singer is asked how long they will take to sing the Anthem and the timing is based on that. When the Anthem begins, the timing starts. So either the singer dragged the song out, or <gasp!> the F-5's were early.

Some of those Blue Angels have good senses of humor. Here's one who buzzed the beachgoers so low that he sent umbrellas & pop-up tents flying everywhere.

The blue angels are based in Pensacola they publish the practice schedule and you can do down near the base and watch.

Maybe it's just the mood I'm in and the sense of patriotism I'm feeling during this midterm season, but that anthem punctuated by the fly-by moistened my eyes a little. Would have been pretty cool to have a timed explosion go off in the end zone

The other end of the spectrum: Southwest Airlines did a 737 flyover at an OU Sooners football game in early December 2016.

I was there, I'd heard about it, but it was not well publicized, and I was amazed how people reacted when that big ol blue 737 did a flyover. Most folks were totally not expecting that. I'm sure many thought WTF and are those guys lost. LOL.

You don't see that every day. The speed limit below 10,000 feet altitude is 250 knots, generally speaking. I assume the Military Jet Jockeys zip over right at 250. SW did not go over at 250 Knots, I don't know how fast they were going but I'm guessing 160-175 knots. They sure had the flaps cranked out, lol. It was cool to see that big blue 737 do a wing rock. That was nice of them to do that in a memorial tribute to Mr Winchester.


Michael Winchester was a kicker for OU, and at age 52 he was killed by some guy with a rifle at Will Rogers Airport in OKC. Totally a weird deal. Mr Winchester was a SW Airlines employee, so SW decided to do a flyby to honor him. His son, James Winchester, was also a kicker for OU.

We have daily flyovers where I live, which is in a designated "practice area" for Luke AFB. The sky is so big here, it is hard to pick them out unless they are on afterburner with the tail towards you, or drop chaff. They use afterburner quite a bit, plus an occasional sonic boom.
