Which part? Biden or bailout?

Why would you think the vast majority of redditors voted for Biden?

Almost all of reddit is a liberal shithole. r/news, r/politics are both heavily leftist. I was banned from r/news for posting the fbi crime stats in another subreddit. I’d never posted in r/news.

Even r/conservative and r/libertarian are overrun by liberals downvoting conservative posts.

r/wallstreetbets might not be majority liberal, and the investors playing this might not be, but Reddit is most certainly majority liberal. Their polices and the groups they ban don’t shy away from their leanings and target audience at all.

The sweet irony is all the tools used to silence and censor Trump and the truth will be used against the people who supported and enjoyed it when it was being used against Trump.

The investment subreddits' political leaning is "$$$".

Tendies are decidedly apolitical. As should this thread be.

Let's get it back on track. Why does *everything* have to be Trump this or Biden that? Jeebus.

Aeteocles, how would you spend $1k on this Monday if you were so inclined?

Also, I saw the "tendies" meme earlier, could I get a better explanation of it so I can lulz proper? Thanks

Apparently, a long-running joke in that subreddit is that people want to make a lot of money so they can afford to gorge themselves on fried chicken tenders/chicken fingers. Hence, having chicken tenders is a sign of wealth, sometimes further embellished as also including cocaine dipping sauce on the side.

(Basically similar to how some people on this forum joke about blowing lottery winnings, tax refunds, or other windfalls on "hookers and blow".)

Chicken tenders, commonly referred to in meme culture as "chicken tendies", was then shortened to just "tendies" along the way. And thus, "tendies" has become synonymous for profit/gains amongst that crowd.

Further, one of the jokes is that if you lose all your money, you'll end up in an alley behind a Wendy's giving handies/blowies for chicken tenders.

Ah, yeah. I'm not gonna be responsible for anyone losing money. Not a financial advisor, this isn't financial advice.

You'll have to jump on Reddit r/WallStreetBets and just decide for yourself what your play is.

At this point, this has as much do with stocks and finance as it does with game theory, social psychology, and a low grade social protest. Couldn't tell you how it'll play out, or what I would do with your money.

Some of the stories on Reddit are touching.

People who have been able to pay for cancer treatment, to help their parents quit their jobs, to fixing cars and paying off loans.

I'm holding. Not just for me, but for those guys too. I've taken plenty on the way up, time to hang on a bit so that those other guys get a chance at some life changing gains. Even a share price of a 5-600 can be life changing for alot of those guys.

I would guess lots of sad stories on the downside. Its a bubble and they all burst. Tulipmania comes to mind. Someone always loses in musical chairs.

That's what so awesome about watching this, even though I decided not to take a position. If I had the money to take a position on this I'd be shorting this or buying puts. As I've said before in this thread, better than Netflix, [inserts MJ popcorn gif]. I'm watching it as a social experiment, thriller/drama/conspiracy movie, news event, etc. Just need to remember to pick up extra butter for all this popcorn I'm munching.

My broker once said Wall Street is the biggest casino in the world. The farthest I went was to open a couple of margin accounts for a few years. I was lucky and did well.

My take on this whole social experiment reminds me of a final table at a poker tournament. The little guy made it to the table and is the short stack. They’re excited because they just won back to back hands... only they’re still the short stack. My guess is this is going to end poorly for the little guy when the bubble finally bursts. I don’t have a seat at this table, but if I did and was up I’d be gone or jump on the short side.

I remember this well. What pisses me off is that the Hunts weren't sued out of existence for the losses and deaths of citizens whose homes and businesses were robbed. Suddenly my wife's wedding silver was worth thousands, as was my father's modest coin collection. My house in Pensacola was burglarized as were many others. Some homeowners were killed. Silver buyers operated storefronts and openly advertised "paying top dollar" and immediately melted it all. All because some rich sons of a billionaire wanted to make their mark. This week I am pulling for Tampa. Fuck the Hunts.

Fair enough, had to ask.
Thanks to you and RogueJSK for the tendies info as well. Wonder how long that meme will last.
