Great, SF cost me more money again. Damn those things have great reviews. I was curious how it works and what exactly it does. I read a comment from someone on reviews asking if it would void warranty. Manufacture says it leaves no trace on ECU, know anything about that? Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

Great color choice. The ones I'd looked at were black white & silver. There is also a throttle relearn procedure. IIRC it's something like this Key on Pedal to floor Slide foot off to let pedan rebound Key off Repeat 3x That may be slightly off, but it sharpened up the throttle in my F150 & Flex. BTW, to echo a prior post. My RWD F150 with the 2.7TT V6 averaged around 19mpg over 33k miles in Houston traffic with a fair amount of towing a sail of a cargo trailer. I just rented a Fusion last week and was pleasantly surprised at the pep in it. As for the bells and whistles... the adaptive cruise works very well, and was a godsend in the stop and go traffic I was stuck in. It does want to keep a bit more distance than i desired, but ultimately worked well were I bumped the gas to stay tight, and the car continued the breaking automatically. So much easier on the knees than constantly going heel toe for hours. I wasn't as much of a fan of the lane assist, but you aren't forced into using it so really not bad. I was not used to sitting down in a car (I drive a van for work and SUV for personal) but I found the cat to fit very well once I had the seat adjusted well. Overall I enjoyed it. Congrats on your purchase! I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.

Good looking car! I am on my 3rd Fusion, a 2012 Sport. My experience has been great with them. I have a few SIGs.

I like the traction control, loose enough it so it will lay down rubber. I hypothesize that if one were to take it to the elementary school next to my house and do donuts it would perform pretty damn well with traction control on. Hypothesis only, I would never actually do that. Tried the auto parking feature, couldn't figure it out, maybe because the lot was empty. Too afraid to try that with real cars around. Getting ready to head back to dealership for third car wash. They left this thing dusty, dirty, and with some kind of substance on the front of the car, plus the glue that they have now had multiple attempts to clean off, but have failed. I'd like to tell them to give me $100.00 and I'll take it to a detailer. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

I wouldn't advise donuts. The rear diff on the Fusion is a tiny little thing not meant to take the full power of the engine.

I've seen the F150 guys have good success with the active park. But have also seen a lot of earlier Fusions have issues with the parallel park. The Enemy's gate is down.

Was only a single donut to see how the Sport mode handles. Did not do any weird stuff, I was expecting it to cut power or pump the brakes or something. It appears Sport mode either disengages traction control completely, or I didn't push it to the point it kicks in. Left a perfect circle on the pavement. It's going to get babied for next five hundred miles or so for a little break in period. Yeah dealer got the last of the glue off my car. Interior is still dusty. I guess I expect too much to have car detailed, but I at least do a decent job. Guess I'll clean it again when I get home. One more pic, just cause I think she's pretty. Very pretty Skins, this thread makes me miss my Contour V6 5 speed stick. Talk about power on demand. "The days are stacked against what we think we are." Jim Harrison

A couple of weeks back I purchased my second new car, 34 years after getting my first. The car chosen is the Ford Fiesta ST, also known as the FIST. Cost was 19,580 USD out the door. So, what's the big deal and why does it deserve a special nickname. Simple, it's an Economy car with a 197 HP turbo 4 that tips the scale at about 2600 lbs. It's also only available in a stick shift (6 speed). Try finding anything with this kind of power to weight ratio for under 20 grand and the only thing you'll find is the FIST. Need I have to say that driving it is a BLAST. Yeah, it's a BLAST to drive. It will also yield over 30 mpg in the city and I happen to live in a county that believes that drivers should have to stop at every single traffic light. Because it's an Economy Car with a somewhat outrageous PWR/WT ratio it does have Traction Control but that is the only Nanny feature in the FIST. BTW, I find the Traction control rather useful, in a straight line pull you don't waste any power generating smoke, what you get is the perfect launch. None of the the typical Nanny stuff like lane departure, automated braking or whatever else those infernal Mellennials demand today, you actually have to DRIVE these cars. The one thing I didn't like was the Rickey Racer wheels and tires that are mandatory on a performance car today. So I have the 205R40-17 wheels and tires in the loft of my garage and 205R50-16 wheels and tires on the car. Made for a huge improvement in the ride and resistance to damage from potholes. As for the plasticy interior and budget seat cover materials, my response is to look at the out the door price. The interior is functional and appears as if it will be durable from a functional standpoint even if it does prove easy to scuff. To be blunt, it's a budget car and if you want leather go get a BMW and enjoy paying for those 150-200 dollar oil changes. BTW, I get free oil changes up to 30 K miles courtesy of Ford. Final indicator of the value is the used prices for the FIST. Currently 4 year old FIST's with about 30-40K miles are selling for MORE than the original sticker price. I could actually sell my FIST in 4 years for more than I paid for it. Unfortunately since it won't be available in the US after 2019 I won't be selling mine, IMO it's a Keeper. I've stopped counting.

Sweet, but where's the pic. ∆∆∆ At 4100 lbs, my car has half a pound less to mover per pony, but I bet yours would probably beat it off the line for sure. Mine was a considerable bit out the door, but I'm really happy with it, the payment, not so much. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

Pedal commander makes no changes to the ECU nor are any wires cut. Simple plug and play. Just disconnect when having service done at the dealer. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. Oddly enough as a shutterbug since the 1960's I've never bothered with getting a photo hosting site, so can't post pics. Someday I really should do something about that but every time I started poking around for a host all I find is horror stories about adware and malware infected hosts. Thanks to Skins2881 I may now be able to post an image of my FIST, provide I get it correct. Holy Hotrod Batman, that worked slicker than buttered snot on wet ice. This message has been edited.
