The attacker's family have been well-coached on the inevitable outcome and a likely murder charge. They are salting the potential jury pool.

The victim's family has undoubtedly been given very bad news. It's been more than a couple of weeks since the assault and by now, the doctors are easing the victim out of her induced coma to see what functions her brain is capable of, such as breathing, eye contact, responding to stimuli, answering questions, making acknowledgements, eating on her own and so forth. If she can't do those things she'll be induced again and machines will allow her to live, likely not exceeding a few weeks.

The hard sadness is that if she's not breathing on her own, tracking with her eyes, responding to verbal ques or starting to be herself, she's likely going to pass away or need 24/7 care, including feeding.

The attacker knows what the likely outcome is and she's appealing to her community to gain sympathy before she's charged with murder.

Honor roll....when, which semester? Dean's List? AP classes? The Honor Society? After watching that video, I have a very hard time believing that the assailant is some kind of scholar or, academic.

Four languages? I'm gonna call BS. Unless she was born in a different country, there's very few teenagers raised in an American culture, that can speak more than two languages. Being a big country with English spoken far and wide, the interaction and exposure to speak other languages in very unlikely.
