Many schools have zero tolerance policies related to these scenarios. Option A is to not fight back, ball up, and take a beating. This option allows you to stay in school. Option B is to defend yourself and get the same (or worse) punishment as the bully.
Our state legislators have been working on some solutions to this issue.

That was satisfying to watch. I bet the bullied kid is doing life, since it is Australia. Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Airsoftguy, June 29, 2018

The victim did put up her dukes FWIW. I can't even say she could have run because there was an even bigger beast on her six. Maybe going down and balling up asap was her only hope, knowing kicks would be the next assault. Set the controls for the heart of the Sun.

To avoid a blood pressure issue, I won't watch the video. Can I surmise: a) a black female almost murdered a white female? b) this occurred in St. Louis City versus St. Louis County? Side note, I've not seen any local media cover this situation.

a. yes b. no It happened at Hazelwood East High School, off of Dunn Rd, North St. Louis County. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Fair point. Being on a school campus does limit your ability to avoid trouble. It does come down to administrators to come down with a hammer with this type of violence. I don't know any 15-year old, male or female who would fight like this kid. I'm not sure I would be able to fight in such a violent, spastic, wild way. P229

And should be put down. Simple as that. That feral creature has exactly zero redeeming qualities and will never positively contribute to society. She needs to be culled. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

Yikes. I grew up in north county and my first varsity wrestling match was at Hazelwood east.

The suspect should be charged with attempted murder. Slamming the victims head into the pavement when she was incapacitated was intentional and made it clear how little value for human life the suspect had. The fight was over at that point, she was defenseless. I’m sure it’s quite different now than when you attended. Someone familiar with the school said it 97% black and they were fighting over the same boy.

Wasn't that the claim against Church's Chicken back in the 80's? But it only affected a specific racial group...
What parents? Safe to say what we're witnessing is a societal breakdown, a segmental collapse of a civilization, where specific groups are unable to function within the world that exists. This isn't just from a socio-economic standpoint or a legal rights issue but, human relations, communication and mores are completely missing; perpendicular to the rest of society. This isn't systematic or, structural to any legal standing but, willful self-segregating from society.

Never miss an opportunity to be Batman! |
I think it is beyond a societal breakdown. There have been numerous fights at various High Schools and Junior High Schools for most of this year, to the point of shutting down the school for a couple days. Perhaps we are seeing the results of "feral" teenagers who weren't socialized during the Covid lock downs. There will probably some studies on that subject.....the big question will any of those studies see the light of day if they don't fit the narrative. I retired from being the Police last year and I am coming up on my first year of being a Court Bailiff. I have seen and heard shit that I never did in 40+ years of being a Police Officer and that is just in ONE court room/division in a Circuit Court. So yeah, carry a pistol (if not two pistols) all the time, carry a knife (preferably a fixed blade) all the time. Be aware and be prepared, because once these feral animals get you on the ground, that is when the real ass whipping starts. That isn't even including the ones running around with guns. They had two shooting on Bi State buses in the last week: one guy on the bus shot two passengers, another guy driving next to a bus thought someone was eye fucking him, so he blocked the bus with his car, got out and shot into the bus killing two passengers (shockingly the suspect is a violent convicted felon) at 1:30 in the afternoon on a busy county roadway (North Hanley in Berkeley area).

With multiple simultaneous assailants instead of just one, the cumulative brutality and resulting damage and lethality scales exponentially. I'm not in LE or Medicine but I'd bet that is exactly the case. And with people not stepping in to help, it's worse than ever. No wonder single stack guns are no longer considered wise for lawful civilian defense against unlawful lethal attacks, let alone for our LEO friends. In various areas around the country, local criminal culture defines this as normal and expected behavior, which is what I think drives these criminal actions. It's normal to these people. If we locked them up and threw away the key after the first brutal offense, everyone would be better off. The laws are on the books but these local city governments and justice systems are riddled with scofflaws, corrupt politicians, payola, race baiters, incompetents, bigots and haters, and just plain nasty human beings. And these problems can never be fixed with that foundation, and why would it, it's the way they like it. Lover of the US Constitution Wile E. Coyote School of DIY Disaster

The victim's GCS is the only gross medical info necessary to determine the outcome with a solid degree of certainty. The lower the score, the more likely that death will occur within 30 days, if not sooner. I hope she pulls through but still critical after this amount of time isn't a good sign.

Glascow Coma Score It's a way to measure the severity of a TBI on a scale of 1-15, in three categories that are pretty easy to understand. 13-15 is a mild TBI 8-12 is a severe TBI Less than 8 usually means the patient is in a coma with a very poor prognosis and death is likely within 30 days. Even if you survive with a low score, you will have a poor quality of life and will need constant care to the point where death might be preferred. I represented a client who killed a girl who ran in front of his car while she was listening to music on her phone. He was fully cleared by the authorities and never sued by the family because it was solely her fault. She died because of the effects of the TBI about a month later which is normal with a low GCS. I suspect this girl's GCS is low and even if the swelling and brain bleed is controlled, the damage is done.

So you answer a question about an acronym with a lot of info and another acronym. What's TBI? How bout just writing it out one time for us who never studied? Please.
