The 7th and 8th innings were brutal

This National team is truly the real deal. Now back to Washington up 2-0. Smile

It was, more or less, a good game until then...hard to believe the wheels could come off the wagon so completely like that.

Verlander got off to a shaky start but seemed to settle down after that for a while. Strasburg is just a pitching machine.

So far, there has been a lot more offense than I was expecting in this series. Both teams have some excellent hitters more than capable of generating hits/ runs, but I was expecting to see these Hall-of-Fame caliber pitchers throttle the offense back...at least in the first couple games.

Definitely not the Rocks. They had one hell of a run, winning 21 straight games and sweeping the LCS...but were promptly swept by Boston in the WS.

I'm hoping the Astros follow after the '65 Dodgers

The satire site, Babylon Bee, has a great World Series "article"

Fox Apologizes After Accidentally Turning On Joe Buck's Microphone
October 24th, 2019

HOUSTON, TX—Fox Sports issued a formal apology after a technical error led to the temporary unmuting of play-by-play announcer Joe Buck during Wednesday night’s World Series game between the Houston Astros and the Washington Nationals.

When the broadcast returned from commercial for the start of the ninth inning, viewers were treated to 60 full seconds of the incessant droning of the perennial World Series announcer Buck. To the horror of baseball fans everywhere, fans were subjected to Buck’s inane and obvious commentary for an entire minute before the problem was fixed.

“We've earned the trust of our viewers by muting Joe Buck throughout every game,” a Fox spokesperson told reporters. “However, millions of fans were understandably upset when we accidentally pressed the 'Unmute Joe Buck' button on our control console.”

“We deeply regret the error,” he added. "Why do we even have that button?"

According to sources, Fox is experimenting with a broadcast in which fans can choose among several audio feeds during the game, including Buck’s commentary, fingernails on a chalkboard, or a pack of wolverines caterwauling loudly.

Big Grin

You know, every once in a while Joe Buck's comments are helpful or interesting, or even funny...but when Game 2 game got out of hand in the 7th inning it's almost like the commentators ran out of anything to say at the same time the Astros ran out of offense. You could even see it in the commentator'sbody language when the camera switched to booth shots.

Glad to see the Astro's have some pride and man the fuck up.

Good game, hopefully they play well enough to bring the series back to Houston.

Martinez kept him in the game and then used all B class relievers. Rumor is he half assed it to force a game 5 thus making a few extra million for the nats.
I only offer this up to piss off the astro fans that we gave them one Smile

Nats left too many on base, they got to get them across the plate. Is it me or does it seem that the TV play by play guys are favoring the Astros.
