It's gonna be hard to top walking through the Red Sox, Yankees and Dodgers in 2017 and those epic games. You could tell this one really hurt the Yanks. Astro starters Verlander, Cole and Greinke vs Nats Strasburg, Scherzer and Sanchez. It's gonna be a good series, I hope Matress Mack has to give away a lot of furniture. Go Astros!

I don't know how to embed it on here, but the Spanish language Fox broadcast was awesome for Altuve's walk-off game winning homer. Facebook link. I'm digging "el pequeno gigante" as their monicker for Altuve.

That was a great baseball game and a very painful loss. I wish I could hate Altuve but he is a class act and a helluva ball player. Damn he crushed that ball. Should be a very good World Series.

I don't watch much baseball but when he came up to bat, I remembered him from their WS victory and thought, he's one who could end this game right now and sure enough he was patient for the right pitch and hammered it out.

I'm sorry, I just can't condone the Astros being in the American league.

Should be one hell of a World Series!

Can't wait for Tuesday night.

With the pitching, I think this one could go 7 games. The Nats are hot right now. I think they can win it all.

Hopefully this is a great series. As always, rooting for the NL.

Carved (mowed) into the grass of the Mall, downtown Washington, D.C. This town hasn't seen a World Series in 86 years!

The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

This still troubles me.

Hell, the whole American League troubles me, because the designated hitter is pure communism, but I still like the Astros.

Yeah!
And did you hear that a proposed rule change would NOT eliminate the designated hitter but spread the communism to the National League?

If that happens I’ll be done with MLB. If you take the field you should have to hit. This DH bull has only been around for about 45 years. It’s all about trying to increase the amount of runs/game.

I will take the other position. Hitting a major league pitcher is virtually impossible, particularly if you only hit 2 or 3 times every 5 days. Having every 9th AB in the lineup be non competive is dumb. Let pitchers pitch and hitters hit. Then again, I made a huge pot of chili last night with beans in it, so what do I know Razz

I understand the arguments about why pitchers shouldn't bat. Too bad, making the pitcher bat brings so many other interesting things into play.

Plus, it was fun watching pitchers bat. They can bunt. Nolan Ryan used to take big rips, and every once in a blue moon, would hit a homer.

If you play ball, you bat.

Me neither, I always favored the NL.
Hate the concept of the DH.

Pipe dream. The MLB union will never let it happen, as much as we want them to.

It's the player's union that wants to spread the communism to the National League. It extends a player's viability beyond the time he can be justified as a fielder.
