Hmmmm. Were the results of a blood test published?

The report I heard this morning said the LEO reported smelling alcohol on Woods, and that he refused a breathalyzer test. Maybe it was as Woods claims, but when the cops find you sound asleep roadside, with the motor running and a blinker still on, slurred speech, completely unable to pass field sobriety tests, looking like he does in the mug shot, and refusing to take a breathalyzer, my money is on the probability that he was drunk driving.

As they say, if it looks like a duck, waddles like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck. Smile

Just going by what Fox News reported this am. Sorry to see his life falling apart. Drugs will do that to ya though. Oh, and women can have that affect too.......

As sinister as the mug shot was ~ reading the story doesn't come off as some drunk partying asshole who was driving like shit endangering everyone in sight.
No, he was asleep from an apparent bad reaction to prescription drugs parked on the side of the road.
Not exactly public enemy number one on the loose and finally caught.

Tiger was probably THE BEST golfer ever and its a shame to see such a talent wasted

however, most of his issues are self-inflicted by bad decision-making

among the top were letting someone who had never played a round of golf on the professional level decide to tinker with your swing

if he had stuck with the swing he had in 2002 and continued on that path we wouldn't be talking about being ranked 876 in the world

the two people that trashed his career were Butch Harmon and Hank Haney

I always thought that if you wanted to win like you did, then swing and hit the ball like you did

but what do I know - I'm a 16 handicapper

He made all of his decisions on his own. He has nobody to blame but himself. That's both in his career and his personnel life.

He decided to have back problems requiring four surgeries?

No, he didn't decide to have back issues, but he picked his surgeons and when to try to get back in the game. He could have quit at the height of his game, but didn't.

Getting back to the DUI, I'm sure he was forewarned about the side effects of the drugs he was taking and he still drove. Again, his decision and choice. No sympathy here!

Jim

Apparently, he pays in cash:

Tiger Woods' girlfriend was in hysterics on Monday after she learned about the troubled golfer's arrest.

Kristin Smith, 33, was enjoying a day of shopping at luxury retailer Neiman Marcus in Dallas when she reportedly received a phone call informing her that Woods, 41, had been stopped by police and charged with driving under the influence.

Multiple eyewitnesses tell TMZ that Smith went 'crazy' in the middle of the store, and started screaming: 'I knew it, I knew it.'

The stylist, who has been dating Woods for a little over a year, then broke down in tears according to her fellow shoppers.

Smith did not let the news distract her from the task at hand however, as she then went about purchasing $5,000 worth of clothes before exiting the store.

Smith and Woods did not go public with their relationship until this past year, though the two were first linked back in November after a report revealed that the stylist had been stopped at the Palm Beach Airport with $200,000 in cash she claimed was a gift from the golfer.

Radar Online obtained an incident report that revealed Smith was questioned about the large sum of money after it was discovered during a routine security check on April 25 of last year.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

No. He won 4 events in 2013, and three in 2012. Before that there was a three year gap since his last U.S. win, and since 2013, he hasn't played much at all because of his back. I think he got his back and knee back in shape in '12 and '13, but that his back gave out for good after that. Perhaps he pushed too hard to come back to golf, or perhaps the injury was too severe. It appears his back injuries have ended his career.

My own feeling is that the death of his father in '06 and his marital woes in '09 dealt him a mental blow that he wasn't handling well. But it is possible that his back was already a serious problem then.

Bet they dismiss the DWI charge... convict him of a couple lesser offenses. Suspended sentence / fine.

Doubt he will ever make it to the top ranks again.

The Smoking Gun has the arrest/testing facility report. No mention of alcohol on the breath as some early stories stated. He agreed to take two breath tests that showed .000 and provided urine for further testing. Admitted to taking Vicodin and several other non-narcotics painkillers.

quote:
A Jupiter Police Department report notes that the 41-year-old athlete was asleep at the wheel of a running black Mercedes when a patrolman discovered him stopped in the roadway around 2 AM Monday.

Woods, cops noted, had “extremely slow and slurred speech” and “did not know where he was.” Woods was arrested after failing a series of field sobriety tests. When told that he would have to recite the alphabet backward, Woods confirmed that he understood the directions, saying, “Yes, recite the entire national anthem backwards.”

The report does not indicate whether the field tests were recorded by a police dash cam.

Two breath tests recorded Woods’s blood alcohol content at .000, indicating that he was likely incapacitated due to his ingestion of narcotics. Woods told police that he takes the painkiller Vicodin and other medicines. He also reported having multiple surgeries on his left knee and achilles.

After being transported to the Jupiter Police Department, Woods was videotaped by officers as he was observed in the DUI testing facility. The 12-minute video shows the lethargic Woods slurring his words and “unable to walk alone.”

While the video of a bumbling Woods has not been released by police, it is likely that the recording will become public due to the state’s expansive open records laws.

In a statement yesterday, Woods said that he had an "unexpected reaction to prescribed medications.”

That is the truth and how ironic it is.

People say you can learn a lot of good life principles by learning how to play golf. Apparently, Tiger didn't.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual."
