Man I backed you up in the other thread after Stlheads post about only hearing one side since unless you were completely lying about the buyer sending cash I didn't feel the need to hear his side. Anyone who sends cash through the mail is an idiot and especially so when that person doesn't require a signature. I can't fathom any excuse that would change my opinion.

However on this one you are on your own. 12321 is a respected member here and it seems to me he was just making a joke. I think in the last thread he was simply agreeing that we should have waited for both sides of the story. While I disagree with that for the reasons I mentioned above, it doesn't necessarily mean he also agreed with the part about you trying to stiff the buyer.

12321 doesn't seem to be the kind of guy who would wait until another thread to insult you. I really think he was making a lighthearted joke.

To quote Raylen Givens: "If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole." Maybe take a step back and notice that maybe if nobody is on your side then you just might be the one who is taking it wrong.

Yeah, you didn't know that? Why else would mail be so slow? They still use Polaroids Razz

ml1209, I would just quit while you are still a head. This isn't going to end well for you.

12131 has proven to be a very generous and respected member. Some other members here have proven they are clueless, humorless, and unforgiving.

H&K-Guy

Shoot, it isn't just unforgiving, it is clueless. I read back over the thread that the OP had his panties in a bunch over and 12131 made multiple posts *supporting* him. Then when Stlhead called everyone out for going off having heard only one side of the story, 12131 thanked him for knocking some sense into him and the OP lost it. Talk about a lack of perspective / clue. Sigh...

I still think 12321 spends too much time here, as some of y'all.

I don't have an issue with the did you send cash statement, but rather Stlhead's statement about me looking for support for stiffing the buyer, to which 12321 said it was the best post in that thread.

Maybe he was talking about the getting two sides of the story part. I mean, I CAN post text messages showing what the buyer said about him sending cash, etc. if you REALLY wanted both sides of the story.

I can update with this: I called the buyer today from the post office. The post office looked at the tracking number and pulled up an image of the envelope. No malibox number was written on it. The buyer was on speaker phone with the postal supervisor.

Buyer's words: "I f***ed up."

End of story.

I am honest in all my dealings on any board, including this one. I would not try to get anyone's support on here for stiffing anyone on another board. That just goes against logic. Just saying.

The reason I posted this issue here is because I wanted to see if this might be a scam or something. You know, just exercising my rights to post a topic as a member, asking for opinions. I don't know how y'all's support would change anything here or on any other forum.

Regarding 12321's reply to Stlhead's post is spot on.

Your transaction with someone from another forum had no business playing out on this (or any other forum, but should have been handled where it took place, with the party that you made the deal.

You did more to "out" yourself that the other guy could have. That's on you.

You make several posts about how you are a top notch person to deal with, yet your true actions belie this, and then you attack a well known and well respected person in the process, one who is above reproach in all of his dealings.

He went out of his way for me in a personal issue of several thousand dollars, with only a couple of emails and a phone call.

He is a good man and an better friend, and I simply won't let him be malinged by someone who has been here long enough to know better.

As for you dilema, it appears that you were in a tough spot that was going to work itself out in any event, and that you had no duty to do anything beyond telling the guy that wanted to buy your firearm that he made a foolish mistake sending cash, and walked away.

But you chose otherwise.

Never sell your savvy, it's not worth a plug nickle.

And "I spend a lot of time here." Many of the people here are real life friends, and great people.

So, there's that.

And as Forrest Gump sez: "That's all I have to say about that."

Well, isn't that nice that 12321 is so well-liked here.

I'm sure he's all right, but I don't come here all too often. I don't know who is who, and it is obvious I stepped on some toes.

So all of you called me to task about insulting a revered member's post. What can I say? I guess I won't be coming here any more as I'm not welcome.

Sorry 12321. I was having fun with you, but it seems you are highly untouchable.

Sorry again. Deepest apologies.

BTW, no hard feelings. I take this as a sign from God that I shouldn't be on these internet forums. They can be such a waste of time. Before you know it, you'll be spending hours or days or weeks (cumulatively) online making posts and getting all worked up about what some stranger posts. I think I can better live my life spending time with my loved ones and friends, and doing productive things like shooting, and having fun. It's a sign, y'all! Thanks for the reminder.

ml1209 -

Take a deep breath. Step back. Spend a few months reading this place and then decide for yourself whether or not you think anyone would say "You're not welcome here."

Regarding the rest of the thread? I'd never presume to walk into anyone's house, let alone this forum, and act like you did. I've also found that the members here are a hearty bunch and not ones to crumble at such affronts.

Stay a spell, get to know the place, you'll probably find yourself spending more time here.
