White Bread American gun battery? Whoa what is that supposed to mean!

I guess it's not Teutonic enough for you? Or Chicom enough for you?

How would you go about recommending that I "diversify" my collection?

Just turn the Glock sideways and shoot it at every other range trip to get the desired diversity. Big Grin

Hey, that's not a bad idea! More shoots per squeeze. LOL

Well, to answer his question, I didn't send cash.

I wouldn't. Only an idiot would do that.

It would've been nice of 12131 to stay on topic in this thread. And really this thread is about guns, not 12131's sense of humor.

Well you have no sense of humor. As far as the guns go, it's a perfect base for a gun owner, or even better every gun you need. I'm missing a wheel gun and shoty. Next purchase will probably be the shotgun.

Which shotgun are you looking at?

Most likely 870, if anything for budgetary reasons. Just made a very large (non gun category) purchase with credit, that needs to get paid before next toy purchase.

Cool. I got my old 870 WM for $170. Action is like butter.

If I was limited to JUST 5, I'd trade the GP for a centerfire bolt gun 308 or comparable caliber probly a used Remington 700. I bought my 308 ADL with leupold 3-9 vx2 glass used for $350 just a few years ago so deals are out there. And I'd trade the Marlin for a 10/22. Thankfully I live in America (ok California ) and my collection is only limited by my income.

As an aside, used rifles with good glass represent amazing deals sometimes. I've seen many nice rifles with $300+ leupold and other higher quality glass for sale for just the price of a used rifle so getting the glass free is a bonus. This month I just picked up a like new JM Marlin 1895 guide gun in 45-70 with a leupold scout 2.5 IER scope and QD rings on it, also has dave clay iron sights for $600. I couldn't assemble that new for under 1,000-1200.

Question, how does the Windham Weaponry AR15 stack up against other brands?

They are the old Bushmaster brand. OK as an entry-level AR, plinker and home defense rifle but I wouldn't deploy with one.

One of our reserve deputies used his own in our patrol rifle certification course, stock broke and as it was civ-spec and not mil-spec the SO couldn't provide an immediate replacement.

Cop shop had police trade in 870s from a local agency. Wingmasters for, I think it was, $175/ea.

For that price I bought 3...

Thanks for the info.

I also have a S&W M&P15 (not the Sport), in the exact same configuration, made in 2007. Is that a better rifle? If it is, I can sell the WW-15 to get something different.

Thinking about getting a Howa 1500 bolt-action .308 - are they good rifles? I do need a .308 rifle to round out the collection.

I posted my comment as soon as I stopped laughing when I saw 12131's post.

I laughed out loud when I read it because I took it the way that he intended it - as a light-hearted jest riffing on your thread from the weekend. To take it any other way would be a mistake.

Nice collection. You do need a bolt gun, .308 or .30-06 would do the trick. Beware the .270, total crap rifle that never kills anything....

You can find a good Savage with Accutrigger (if'n you like that sort of trigger) for relatively cheap.

Or better yet, go buy a 1911 (any 1911 really, doesn't matter) and watch the fever grow it into a half dozen 1911's.

That's nice. But I took it in the way it was supposed to be taken, as a post of a complete and utterly degenerate weeb.

I'm not sure if you are trying to be funny, or if you really are that clueless. Anyone who has paid any attention at all would not characterize 12131 as anything but an incredibly generous member of this board. I hope you are around long enough to figure that out.

Wow, I knew your silence on all the posts about 12131 wasn't a good sign, but you just took it to a whole new level. Eek
