EMT for 30 years here. I prefer the Littman Classic II with the single bell head. They can laser engrave the head too! I recently loaned it to my RN wife who misplaced her Littman (unsure of model). Littman is a good choice. My only advice to to make sure it's got her name engraved as well as a obvious name tag on it......hospitals, especially training institutions are notorious for having nice stethoscopes grow legs and disappear !  | |||

At many of the hospitals were I have staffed they have a gift shop. Sometimes they are run by "volunteers" (retired people that make a big difference). Everyone gets a Littman, when it gets lost or stolen they buy another brand. There are lots of good-quality scopes out there. Get a littman because you would be like the college kid that shows up with a PC while everyone else has a Mac. Other Brands of note Prestige,ADC, Mabis and Lumiscope. _________________________ | |||

FWIW, Mrs.BurtonRW, RN, has always preferred the Littman Cardiology IV vs. the Littman III. Better acoustic range, she says.
