I bought myself a pre-birthday gift.

I'm happy.

I sometimes joke to myself that I've given up on happy; I'll settle for not being in pain.

I think it's a joke. Eek

Ha! I get the joke. I'm happy and in pain.

Happy is my state of being; low level, pretty much nonstop, moving around to target of opportunity pain is a constant companion.

Happy is subjective. I'm happy when I win a prize or receive some unexpected benefit. I have to admit that I don't just wander through life carefree and full of delight. My dog is 'happy', but he takes it too far and acts a fool.

I am not joyously happy all the time. Mainly I am just satisfied with my life. Is that happiness?

Gratitude is important, though not exactly the same as happiness. Seeing boobs certainly (depending on the boobs) can cause some happiness in the moment! Gratitude is being thankful for being able to see nice boobs.

The musician and college professor Livingston Taylor describes success as gratitude. Or maybe it is the reverse, when we have gratitude we have attained success.

Getting better by the day.

I have been on vacation for a few weeks now and I think I'm (almost) finally caught up.

Doing my best to try to be. Work has been shit and found out today it's gonna get even shittier before it gets better. I do have to qualify some people this afternoon, so maybe I can squeeze in a few rounds myself while we're doing that. Would certainly be cathartic.

Boobs probably aren't happening, and if they do they'll almost certainly not be something anyone would want to see.

I used an AI for a scientific description. It seems encompasing, but doesn't seem like a good gut check for answering the OP's question:

Happiness in psychology is typically described as a multidimensional construct called subjective well-being, which combines how people evaluate their lives (life satisfaction) with the balance of positive and negative emotions they experience, plus a sense of meaning or purpose in life.
