I've been with DFAS for eight years.

Count me as one of those that will retire when I die.

That’s what I used to think until one evening in October of 1999 when I regained consciousness in what remained of my cruiser after a guy doing 70+ slammed into it from behind while I was on a stop. You never know what fate has in store.

I will be 81 come next Feb. Wife will be 83 in March. We are both in good health and physical condition. Last major windstorm through here blew down 2 big oak trees. I measured the big one, it was 88 inches around at the base. The "small one" was only 40 inches. We turned it all into firewood, as we have been heating with wood since 1985 when we moved here.

What to do for fun? Fish during the spring and summer with a little boating thrown in. I do wood turning and spend a lot of time in the shop. Gave up deer hunting.

Our 32 year old grandson has been living with us for more than 2 years. Won't get into that.

Have done pretty much all the traveling I want to do. Covered every state but Alaska and Hawaii, virtually all western Europe countries, a number of middle eastern countries. Spent a year in Iran as a military advisor.

Having spent a frugal life, and having a frugal German housewife, we have no debt, more real estate than I like (have to work on her about that). 3 houses and a 52 acre wooded area.

Getting into displaying/selling some of my wood turning stuff this weekend. Wonder how that will go.

I retired from IBM 25 years ago, and 20 years ago from Lockheed Martin.

I have 3 years, 5 months and 3 days to retirement (not that I am counting). As I am a LEO, I have no plans to continue that. Plan #1 is to put myself through the Tom Rose Master Dog Trainer School and go work for a friend who does Single/Dual Purpose K9 training. If I don't work with my friend, do a dog Walker/Sitter/Trainer business for myself. Plan #2 is a Bailiff or something in corporate security.

I retired four years ago when I was 60.

Been doing pretty much whatever the Hell I feel like doing.

I highly recommend retirement.

It has been a busy and quick couple decades. I look forward to doing NOTHING for as long as possible. I truly hope to feel 'bored' someday. Have not been bored for over 20 years.

Too late. I retired 12 years ago. I live in the same house, drive the 2006 Mustang GT I had just bought (sold the 1986 Mustang GT daily driver), and pretty much still do the music activities I was committed to. I travel quite a bit, both on this continent and overseas. I feed 6 indoor and 3 outdoor cats (friends take care of them when I go away).

Working retired here. At 71, it seems as if I have no immediate plans to retire from my "Retirement Job". For the next two to three years (or beyond) I intend to continue working.

Luckily with the contract job I have, even though it is a bit complicated, they don't care about age, only production. I can set the amount of work I take, even though they would like to keep me busy 24 hours per day.

If I decide to stop working I may just not do anything, except what I want to. I just don't want to become bored
