The “food desert” crap in Dallas used to really piss me off. Apparently the small, but full-service, (including full-service butcher counter) Mexican groceries on every other corner in the hood didn’t count. I guess if it wasn’t Kroger or Walmart it didn’t count as food. I know from experience, because the only grocery left in my neighborhood before I moved that wasn’t El Rancho or La Acapulqueña was Walmart neighborhood market.

hello darkness my old friend |
This will be great! They can pay their minimum wage employees their much desired $25 and hour. Their "customers" will steal them blind and Government missmanagement will prove them all fools. I hope they get it done. I love a good train wreck!

Imagine what would happen when they did the blue light special - the whole store would clear out in seconds.

The "corruption" is a feature, not a bug, of all government programs. The purpose is to secure power, by buying off supporters. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

I'm sure ALL the local District Alderman's will have this under control and on the up-and-up. Suuuuuuuure they will..... "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Winters (1918-2011), E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

Let the Outfit run the show. A friend of mine who has been a casino general manager for decades told me that the crime rate was zero when the mob ran Vegas.

No room in the Police Stations, they're packed with illegal immigrants shipped in from Venezuela via Texas. ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. Oh, I'm all for the acceleration theory! I've lived here in Chicago or the South Suburbs damn near all my life. I come from a long line of City Workers- Dad, Uncle and Cousin all 40+ years on the Fire Department, 2 other Cousins on the Police Side. (Irish Welfare, as it's sometimes referred to.) I've got 28 years, and don't know how many more to go, more importantly- I don't know how much gas I have left in the tank for this shit. I've never wanted out so bad in my life. Unfortunately there's a residency clause for our employment. We have to live in the city. I'm about > < this close to moving the Family out to Indiana, and getting a cheap apartment somewhere in my District with another cop or two. I knew that it was going to get bad under lightfoot, I knew it was going to get worse under Johnson... I didn't know how bad, or how quick. Yet, as already pointed out- it must be what these assholes want, because they keep voting for them. I believe 35% -/+ turned out for the last election. That's a lot of fucking apathy! I'll post more about this shit-show later- ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. There are a few good people in Chicago and I feel sorry for them. Hope you and your family stay safe. _________________________ "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." Mark Twain

Same here, CPD SIG. Stay safe. If it's any consolation, it's not just Chicago. It's all the big, older, Democrat run cities. "Some things are apparent. Like a party in your pants |
The majority of voters in Chicago support this shit, they showed us this when they just elected Brandon for Mayor. The majority of the Chicago population has reached a point where getting more free shit gets there vote. They will never give this up. The City run grocery stores is just a new way to funnel money to the gangs and their front people the "community organizers". Nobody involved in this sham cares about theft, its tax payer money that will support this, the endless pile of cash will funnel out to political supporters of Brandon's, and to the Gangs. The sooner this house of cards collapses the better. Unfortunately, the leaches and parasites of our society will never stop until the host dies. Control the food, control them. I would like all to pay attention to Chellim1's tag line. It pretty much sums up the situation here. Groceries stores in the inner city don't fare well at all. Pilfering (theft from within- employees) and shoplifting are KILLING these businesses, as well as drug stores. Why? Problem 1 is you're dealing with inner city denizens Problem 2 is our elected officials like to pander to these malcontents. Example- shoplifting above $300 used to be a felony. Now, it's raised to $500, and you have to have a prior conviction in order for the Cook Co Felony Review Unit to even consider the arrest for felony charges. The chances of being convicted for even a misdemeanor theft charge here is slim to none. Even if the above prerequisites are met, good luck... Why? Well, a big thanks to the twat-in-charge Kim foxx, Toni Preckwinkle (cook co board president) and chief judge Tim Evans. That being said, a business is in business to make money. Let's take the "Mariano's" in the middle of Englwood (one of the tougher ghettos in Chicago). Adjusted their prices for the neighborhood (I'm paying $7ish for a gallon of milk, Englwood- about $4-5...). Hey, the city will give this store tax breaks, just employ people from the neighborhood. (Guess where the pilfering is coming from?!?!). Then the other lovely citizens are just filling up the basket and walking out the front door. "Paying for shit is for suckers"! That business is sick of loosing money, so they close the store. Some jack-wagon labels it a "food desert" because you can't buy food in that area. They decided to loot their stores in their neighborhoods during the mostly peaceful protests in 2020, where did they go after that? To the ones in my neighborhood and tried the same shit. There was more than one case of the suburban police finding someone not from that neighborhood beaten pretty good in the parking lot. Now, our progressive, social justice warrior of a mayor wants "government run stores"? All of our city employees are Union... Yep, this is going to work out so fucking good! Please re-read Chellim1's tag line...This message has been edited. Last edited by: CPD SIG, ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot.
