Chinese freighter drags anchor across 2 undersea cables, Nato even saying could be considered a Article 5 attack.

Explosion in Kosovo damaging water supply to 2 power plants and they are blaming Serbia.

Protests in the country of Georgia sort of like what happened in Ukraine.

Syrian rebel group has pretty much overrun Alepo and the government troops no longer have the Russians, Iranians and Hezbollah to help them.

There are so many sparks in the world right now, I would feel safer at a Tijuana fireworks stand working with a bunch of chain smokers.

I told a few of my most trusted friends months ago that if Trump wins, that the days between Election Day and Inauguration Day will be the days where we are at the most danger as a society and a people of perhaps our entire lifetimes. Everything hangs in the balance, and I’ve been praying daily that Trump is sworn in and takes office without undo drama.

All the prepping I’ve done personally, and for my family these pays five years is at our highest state of readiness.

I guess I am interpreting Rey’s post differently. I understood it to means augment SS with specops folks because the specops folks think like hunters and may be better able to predict the threat vectors, not because you’re going to turn them loose to hunt down and kill the folks that may well deserve that treatment. Maybe I read it wrong though?

As a side note, I just met a guy who worked at camp David as part of the USMC security detail there. The difference between the republican presidents and democrat presidents in regards to interaction with them was startling and profound. But I do indeed hope we see DJT and JD Vance safe and productive through the next 4 years. The leftist are willing unfortunately to do ANYTHING that can prevent them from falling from power and doubt they will leave anything out of bounds in that effort sadly

To use the relatively simple example of the July attempt on President Trump’s life, would a military sniper have been more sensitive to the possibility of long range rifle threats from the various locations overlooking the stage area than the average Secret Service agent? The USSS obviously has snipers, but even then there is a difference between selecting and setting up in the best position for defensive overwatch and being able to find a spot for an assassination attempt while minimizing the possibility of detection. And now I’m speculating even more, are snipers included in advance teams whose makeup is probably personnel who are most concerned about close threats, movements, safe areas, and all the other details of dignitary protection in public areas?

In any event I know from personal experience that bodyguards (e.g., USSS agents) who provide dignitary protection have to consider and deal with a lot that has little to do with actual protection, and much of which may seem under the pressures of the situation to be more important. As far as I recall, the incident in July was the only time a Secret Service agent has ever stopped a threat by shooting someone, much less killing him. The agent who did that performed admirably and very possibly had prior military experience, but it couldn’t hurt to have such personnel involved in other aspects of such operations.

None of that of course means that there won’t be legions of critics of the idea who will announce to the world that the idea is a step (or less) from the establishment of domestic death squads to hunt down and kill the regime’s opponents who are too dangerous to be rounded up for the Camps.

Yep. That's what the blackwater guy was saying. I didn't pass the message clearly. They know how to hunt, so they look at what they're protecting - the president - and they would know what they would do if they were trying to kill him and they would then direct mitigation measures.

I saw a tv segment after the Pennsylvania attempt where either a current or past SS lead agent explained how he would do advance work and part of that, he would go to where the principal would be. He would look around, up and down, and identify line of sights and positions that present a high level of threat.
