The dog and I decided on spaghetti with garlic and olive oil. We're snowed in here and I had to knock snow off of the parsley in a planter outside -- it wasn't frozen and was usable.

If you've never tried this dish, you should ASAP. It's very simple to fix and unbelievably yummy. All of the ingredients have been prepared and are ready to go. Just having a little wine and a cigar in anticipation...

Here's Chef John's (Foodwishes.com) take on it:

That looks pretty good, we will have to try it! Thanks for the recipe.

I have to admit that this is what came to my mind when I saw your thread title:

Playing with my new Sous Vide toy. Ribeye Cap Steaks leftover from earlier in the week. Had to buy four since price club makes you buy in bulk. Will also be having, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, and green beans (with bacon). All four items cooked in warm water. Steaks finished on the Weber and carrots finished in SS pan.

Chili and cornbread Smile

Hits just the right spot on a day like this. There's still a few inches of snow on the ground that's melting a bit, but will likely refreeze in a few hours.

Mom's homemeade chili. She makes a bunch of it sometimes and freezes some. I've had some thawing in the fridge, dropped it into a tiny crock pot, and reheated it slowly.

Yum. Now I just need cornbread.

God bless America.

Not tonight, but tomorrow night will be slow cooked Navy beans with smoked ham hocks, mild green chili, hot Rotels, and 6(six) pepper seasoning. Of course, there will be cornbread muffins to soak up the juice.

Making chili here, too, for the same reason. Smile

I'll be having TJ's Channa Masala, an onion-garbanzo bean curry, found among the frozen Indian entrees. I'll add some tahini, which provides the essential amino acid that garbanzo beans lack (and I like its flavor). And I'll put in LOTS of black pepper, too.

Then a bowl of blueberries, and garlic ciabatta toast drizzled with EVOO.

The girls are out of town for a clinic so I think the boy and I will have creamy tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwiches tonight.

I need to make chili and cornbread; maybe tomorrow. Tonight is tenderloin steaks with asparagus.

The garlic spaghetti sounds good, but I need meat in my spaghetti.
