Ruh-roh, time change. Just wondering where the folks are who find time changes so disruptive on their lives that become borderline unfunctional. Maybe the magic wand worked this time.

We're not unfunctional, we just don't like having to change the clock unnecessarily based on an archaic law/rule. It's not 1918 (Standard Time Act) or 1942 (War Time).

Grok'd the history of DST, interesting timeline.

Daylight Saving Time (DST) was first instituted in the United States with the Standard Time Act of 1918 during World War I as a temporary energy-saving measure.

Key Milestones in U.S. DST History:

• World War I (1918): Congress passed the Standard Time Act on March 19, 1918, putting DST into effect for seven months to conserve fuel. It was repealed a year later in 1919 over public and agricultural opposition.

• World War II (1942–1945): Year-round DST (known as "War Time") was re-established nationwide following the attack on Pearl Harbor.

• The "Clock Chaos" Era (1945–1966): After World War II, the federal government dropped DST, leaving individual states and towns to decide whether and when to observe it. This created a patchwork schedule where traveling short distances could mean changing your clock multiple times.

• Uniform Time Act of 1966: Signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson, this act created a nationally standardized system for DST and fixed start/end dates, as outlined by the U.S. Department of Transportation Uniform Time Guide.

• Energy Policy Act of 2005: Extended the duration of DST to its current span, running from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November.

So it's been a issue since the beginning of the last century.

With todays technology, Tractors have lights, AC, and GPS mapping to run in a field, Kids are not walking miles in the dark on back roads to schools and the Germans are not bombing Pearl Harbor....

Worlds different, everyone drives their kids to school or puts them on a Bus, it's good for them, get up, dark skies, struggle to wake, go through getting dressed and ready grumpy, shove crappy sugar filled cereal down their throats or a pop-tart for your one sibling that's always the last to get going, maybe get a energy drink to get moving.

You know, get ready for real life pre work activity as an adult!

So pick one, live with it, and eliminate it...

But I do look forward to the second Sunday in March for half the year... Razz

Why do I keep hitting myself in the head with a ball-peen hammer?

Because it feels good when I stop! Big Grin

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
