The only clock I need to set is on the microwave and I've never set that in the 15 years I've had it.

I'm sitting here at my desk watching the clock hit 2am knowing I will have to get up and manually reset all the analog clocks at the station.

What sucks - not right now, but in another month or so as the northern hemisphere approaches winter solstice - is sunset at 5 PM and fully dark by 5:30.

We dont have that issue here in the free Territory of Arizona. One clock, One time

But I would like to comment on the ridiculousness of 'we cant change it because kids will walk to school in the dark'

Then change the school starting time!!

Looking forward to standard time. I reset all my analog clocks on the microwave, coffee maker, range and wall clock last night at 7:00 PM. Naturally I warned the wife that the true time was on the wireless air device.

As usual someone forgot to tell the cat, dog, and bird about the time change. The cat was especially proactive in demanding to be fed. Luckily I calmed them down before they woke up the wife.

Too late. I already got the dog fed at 6am on the regular schedule, so I'll stay on that schedule until after the last feeding.

That's just one dog. Imagine having a dairy operation of many hundreds of animals that are used to being fed/milked on a specific schedule, and trying to change that by an hour.

Sylvester is a neighborhood outdoor cat. He comes to our house twice a day, to be fed breakfast and supper and then take a nap in the house where he doesn't have to worry about predators.

Sylvester doesn't have a clock, he doesn't know how to tell time, and he doesn't care what time it is. Breakfast is at sunrise and supper is at sunset. That's all he needs to know.

I used to run a business that was a 24 hour operation and we had 32 time sensitive machines (ticket machines, access gates, cash registers, credit card readers, payroll time clocks, etc). I had a crew of 6 on the night shift and I thought I could get away with going in early on Sunday morning and making sure they had it all fixed, but it I learned I just had to go in twice a year and manage it in real time or things started breaking within 10 minutes.

I don't have that issue anymore, just woke up without an alarm this morning and everything was fixed for me! Cool

Talking about dogs, for years I had a 6:04am alarm, and swear to god my dog would walk in my room every morning between 6:01 and 6:03. It would take him a week to get back on track after the time changes.

I'd just leave mine on DST and use that all year to have a little more in the evening. But then I'd be sure to miss appointments and meeting schedules so I set mine all back. Thanks Tom Cotton! Mad

I takes me 15 minutes every time to find the DST setting on my Casio ProTrek watch then turn it on or off. The first 13 minutes trying to remember which combination of buttons to press and when to turn the crown, 1 minute to look it up on the internet, and 1 minute to to follow the instructions. It’s fairly simple and every time I think I going to remember or remember enough to figure it out. Nope. Frown It honestly take about 30 seconds to change the hour which doesn’t even change the minutes or seconds, but where’s the fun in that? Plus, it has a setting.

Isn't there a song by Bruce Springsteen?
Grilling in the Dark?

That's what I'm doing...

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
