I am sorry, when they go they sure do leave a huge empty place in our hearts.

He was a good looking guy.

My condolences, I know exactly how you feel.

Our mal/ridgeback mix, 13 years old, was in the same situation. She occasionally fell down, had trouble walking and was developing some large abdominal lumps.

My wife saw it coming before before I did, and got a puppy to keep her company her last couple months.

The puppy made the loss a little less painful. These pics are over the last 3 months.

My deepest condolences on your lost. It sounds like Emrick had degenerative myelopathy which is very common in German Shepherds. Both of my previous GSDs had it.

Rest, recoup, and get back on the horse. Plenty of furry ones out there that need your love and saving.

This. We mourn the loss of the ones we love. We then find new love, by making the life of another better.

I think that is so true, and have never heard it stated that way. Emrick, you will always be loved, and remembered. People that care deeply about their pets always will grieve for the ones passed, but have the wisdom to share their love again.

I am sorry , we know your sadness.

Very sorry for your loss; it's never easy to lose a companion like you had. You gave a fine life and he enriched your immeasureably. He'll be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for you.

Sorry to hear this. The loss of a furry friend is a deep one. Take some time. Don't rush into getting a new dog, and when you are ready, honor your furry buddy and provide a home for another that will help fill the loss

I’m sorry to hear that it was Emrick’s time. He looked like an awesome buddy.

I hate reading these threads and I know what each of them contains based on the title. However, I know how much I love my animals and feel that our pets deserve a proper send off after all of the companionship and joy they provide.

I am sorry. Sounds like a wonderful pup. Hopefully playing and chasing all the tennis balls possible.

I am so sorry to hear that.

We lost one of our labs in February. It is still weird not to have him around the house.
