I had a neighbor who had a German Sheppard about his age. She'd walk him everyday and that consisted of walking 10 yards, him laying down and her standing there waiting until he could stand and walk again. Three times a day they'd go down to the corner in snow, sun or rain, and back again which would take about 45 minutes or so. This went on for about 6 months and then one day I noticed I never saw him laying in front of my house.

Dogs are special and whatever we give them is nothing compared to what they give us. My condolences for losing your best friend.

I love GSDs, great, loyal dogs. It always breaks my heart to hear of one going. My condolences.

Good boy, Emrick. Our condolences.

I lost my pal Chumley about 2 months ago, under similar circumstances.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Feel blessed that Emrick shared his life with you and your family for 13 wonderful years. We very much miss all of our beloved family member pets that have gone over the Rainbow Bridge but our lives are much fuller with joy, love, and fond memories for the time we spent together.

So sorry to hear of your loss of Emrick. One of the hardest things we ever have to do.....
