Chuckle chuckle – Musk pisses off CA Dems…

“A California Democrat had choice words for entrepreneur Elon Musk after he announced that he plans to move the Tesla HQ to Texas and Nevada 'immediately' after a California county health official said that his plant could not reopen.

'F**k Elon Musk,' San Diego assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez tweeted Satuday.

Gonzalez's statement drew both praise and condemnation, particularly from people who pointed out the number of job losses if the Tesla factory moves.”

And yet again we have folks fleeing CA that will come to TX because of our excellent business climate and immediately try to turn it into the shithole they left (no offense to our CA residents).

I’m so tired of this...

I read about this kind of stuff all the time but wonder how much of it is just theater. How many of those skilled workers are actually going to uproot their families and follow Musk? Maybe a lot, I really don't know.

I guess I'll believe it when I see it.

Kinda ironic that he’s turning anti government after Tesla was kept afloat with the help of massive handouts from the feds.

So, Newwsom gave Tesla the green light to reopen, but some county health official says, "Screw Newsom"? Yup, it's all theater bullshit. They are not going anywhere.

Any decision to relocate would NOT necessarily be contingent on the number of employees that would commit to make the move with them. Pretty sure they have 'skilled workers' in Texas and Nevada. Wink

My thought too. It's just a negotiating tactic.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Ya think? Moving HQ to Texas/Nevada "immediately"? Not a very good poker player. Anyone can spot your bluff a mile away.

This commie bitch is the reason Orange County went blue in 2018, every U.S. Congressional house seat went Democrat for the first time ever. In 2014, she authored a bill (Moonbeam signed) to basically allow "ballot harvesting" to be legal in CA, changing what used to be; only adult household members of one's family to drop off a ballot at a poll station is now any human being, even paid political campaign workers, are allowed to drop off ballots. The chairman of OC's Republican Party claimed ballot dropoffs increased by hundreds of thousands in the 2018 election. And now the Democrat Party has gotten a huge whiff of this scam, and the reason why nationally, they are pushing for mail-in ballots. They are trying to emulate CA's ballot harvesting scam for the upcoming Presidential election.

Mad

He says "moving HQ", which I assume means Head Quarters ? Which could amount to his office and all his weed.

A bit different from moving a HUGE auto production plant overnight.

The disagreement with Alameda is a catalyst, not the reason, for the move. If it made good business sense to manufacture vehicles in Fremont, GM/Toyota would still be there. The reason Tesla got the plant for such a bargain is because you can’t make affordable vehicles in the California regulatory/cost-of-living environment.

This pandemic has only accelerated the inevitable —the move to a cheaper tax environment. I don’t think Elon is bluffing, except maybe on the “immediately” part.
