Back in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s my mom was a nurse in a urology practice. Two of the docs had a good sense of humor…one had PP MD on his plate, the other had OUI OUI. One was a Mercedes, the other a Porsche, but I can’t recall which was which. Filutowski Eye Clinic is a huge practice in Central Florida, with multiple locations, specializing in LASIK and cataracts. My wife and I both had our cataracts removed there. There was a lady GYN around here that for a while had one that read VAH JJ but I think they finally caught on and revoked it. Guy I worked with had an F-350 diesel dually with PNS EXT. He had to explain it. Told them it was for an exterior panelling business. Friend in CA had one on an old F=250 that was SMASH U. We were in the unfortunate position of having to buy two cars last year (wife's DD was totaled). To make lemons out of lemonade, we decided to get complementary plates. Hers says "SMIFFF" and mine says "WESSUN". | |||

Knowing is Half the Battle |
The plate on my deceased dad's 1985 GMC 1/2 ton High Sierra I bought back from the guy he sold it to reads "85 K15." The plate on my 2003 Silverado 1/2 ton I inherited from my dad, the truck he bought when he sold the 1985 is "WASHMO", after my hometown, Washington, MO. Few people in Iowa get it, most just think "wash more" in ebonics. The African-American guy who had to tow it a couple months ago thought that was hillarious. I thought about getting "WARSHMO" for the 1985 GMC as most people from the St. Louis area say Washington as "Warshington." There is a car I've seen around here with "DJTMAGA" as its official mounted plate and "LGBFJB" in rear its window without registration sticker. I assume Iowa DOT recalled it and he had to turn in the plate with the sticker but got to keep the other one. I saw one last week that was "VOID", I wonder if that works for automated camera tickets. | |||

I recall an article about a guy with NONE or NO PLATE or something a few years back that had all sorts of issues with getting unpaid parking ticket and toll notices because of it. Probably not worth the hassle. NULL would be in that boat also. | |||
