I see the cool guys post youtube videos and they show the screen shot.

When a dweeb like me posts from youtube all I get is a link.

Is there someone I should bribe?

Dude, the cool guys use "Tube it" from Chance, the creator of the Karmanator.

You may find it here.

I’m a little worried about Jim Shugart as well, I know he lost his dog, and she meant the world to him.

I'm headed for the ocean this week... will I still be able to hear the forum?

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I knew a girl once who's nickname was "Tube it". Thank goodness I never dated her.
But I digress...

One could argue (just for the sake of arguing, like my late lamented mother-in-law) that what you have posted are the Known secrets of SigForum.
The Unknown Secrets (pace Don Rumsfeld) are in the X-Files, I believe.

[Disclosure: I am posting while on post-procedure narcotics, so feeling more mellow than you will likely see me in a very long time.]

Well, partly because of the rather large physical distance between most of us, I actually know the answers to ALL these questions.

However, if I ever admitted that to anybody here, and attempted to give an answer, then I have no doubt that the wrath of Parabellum would descend on me like a box of clogs, and I'd be instantly era

arcwelder's job is keeping him occupied these days. That goes double for LDD, who changed careers and simply does not have the time at present to monitor this forum. The kind of work he's doing is not 9 to 5, Monday through Friday.

Both arcwelder and LDD retain their positions here, but, real life comes first.

lbj ceased administering the forum quite some time ago, for reasons most of you guys know. Again, this is a matter of priorities.

Chris is still here but his style has always been low-key. He's a damn good guy.

SIGforum has been in operation for two decades and that's more than enough time for the lives and circumstances of staff members to change. No one gets paid for moderating this forum and it shall always be that real life takes precedence over an an unpaid virtual position- a job which sometimes results in getting grief from forum members.

In reality, the forum is being run by me alone.

Boss,

I meant that part of my OP to be more of a joke than anything else. I had no idea you were taking on the vast majority of the burden. Moding a board is more curse than blessing. There is some joy to be had, but mostly it's hard work and you are constantly being crapped on from every angle.

Forget the cops for a minute, we should have a "We appreciate all that the admins/mods do" thread.

Maybe it's time to bring in some new blood? But I don't know anyone on here that could do the work. Any sane person would run away from the chaos that is Message Board Administration.

I guess I'll just leave it with this, thanks for all you do to keep this family (asylum???) together. It truly has become an integral part of our lives and gives us so much in return for so little.

Thank you.

I'll let you in on a little secret- aside from SIGforum, I owned in the past several other forums. I have had ample opportunity to recruit moderators, and the fact of the matter is that I would never make a moderator out of anyone who volunteered for the job. Only a glutton for punishment volunteer to get kicked around for free. All moderators in this and all other forums I owned previously, were solicited by me, and I make sure that they know- before they accept- what they're getting themselves into.

So, no one should email me and volunteer for the job. That's not intended to offend anyone. It's simply a matter of fact that in this forum, all moderators are recruits and not volunteers.
