Breaks my heart. Hurry up, commie Pope Francis Hospitalized, ‘Struggling to Speak’ The leader of the world’s Roman Catholic Church has been hospitalized in Rome and forced to cancel all public activities through the weekend, according to news reports. Pope Francis, 88, was active Friday morning, meeting with the prime minister of Slovakia and other dignitaries, according to the Associated Press. However, he appeared in ill health and, according to CNN, was “struggling to speak for extended periods.” Francis has suffered from bronchitis for the past week, according to the AP, and it was evident before his hospitalization. “On Friday, he appeared bloated and pale during the handful of audiences he held before going to the hospital,” the AP reported. “The bloating appeared to indicate that the medication he was taking to help treat the lung infection was making him retain water.” He showed similar symptoms at his general audience on Wednesday

We are definitely due for a new conclave. Overdue, IMO. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Who will be the next pope – and how does the conclave work? New website sheds light on the cardinals who will elect the pontiff after Francis' death By The Week UK last updated December 17, 2024 The rituals surrounding the papal succession date back centuries, but the process has been given a modern revamp after a team of Catholic journalists and researchers compiled a new online guide to every cardinal who will choose the next pontiff. The College of Cardinals Report – a "slick, interactive website", said Crux – features details of all 253 cardinals, including where they stand on issues such as female deacons, same-sex unions and priestly celibacy. Special attention has been paid to 22 cardinals currently deemed potential papal candidates. But this has brought complaints from some Catholic commentators who think it disrespectful to speculate on who the next pope will be while the current one is still alive. https://theweek.com/news/relig...-to-be-the-next-pope "Some things are apparent. 2025 has started in the right direction. I hope it continues as a new Pope can be selected to steer it back to God and stay out of secular, political issues. I do not see this website to be disrespectful at all as a Catholic.

I’m not Catholic, so don’t really “believe” in the Pope. Maybe his boss is dissatisfied with his job performance and has decided it’s time for staffing changes. What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand??? ![]()

I was raised protestant, but a good portion of my family is Catholic. What this "Pope" (a strong argument can be made that Canon Law literally de facto excommunicated himself years ago based on the amount of heresy he's propagated) has done to the church, and our world in general, is just downright diabolical. He and his minions have marginalized and picked-on good strong believers like Bishop Strickland in Texas, and Father James Altman in Wisconsin, and Cardinal Mueller in Germany. At the same time, he's installed far-left leaning frauds in positions of power. Jorge Bergoglio is a truly evil man. Let's hope the damage he's done can be reversed. Proverbs 28:1

I remember Pope John the 23rd. He turned the Catholic church on its hand. Centuries of tradition such as the Latin Mass went out the window. He had substantial influence around the world. As to the next Pope it is not gonna be an American. We will have a female President before that happens.

Being so super secret it raises the hackles on the back of my neck. Those guys are wound up so tight it's probably something that should remain secret. Otherwise I imagine it's just as hyper political and comptetive as any other body of politic. It would have to be whenever a large body of accomplished and intelligent people begin jockeying for power. Lover of the US Constitution Wile E. Coyote School of DIY Disaster

I read a book recently that was centered around the Vatican and the College of Cardinals , etc. It was fictional but extremely well researched . The level of corruption that exists is unreal , and has always been that way . At the end of the day , these are still just men with all the same weaknesses as anyone else . They think they're special but they're really not .

This makes me want to buy the movie The Conclave. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
