The decision paves the way for the league’s third relocation in 14 months, and comes on the heels of the Rams and Chargers moving to Los Angeles. The one I can't figure out is the Chargers moving to Los Angeles. Why would they want to be second fiddle to the Rams? "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Rumor here (San Diego) is the Spanos team wants to devalue the chargers so much as to make a sale appealing. The value of the team is too high compared to its winning capability. Oakland (the city) is a day late and a dollar short. Good for the Raiders. LV as a tourist destination / entertainment mecca has a lot going for it. There will be lots of people buying tickets just because they are there and want another thing to do. This could work. There are a lot of empty seats in plenty of NFL stadiums nowadays at any rate. ====================================== Proverbs 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

More like 5th or 6th fiddle - Rams, USC football, UCLA football, Dodgers, Lakers, UCLA basketball... I heard an interview where they say the Chargers did not expect to draw any kind of fans live and they were OK money wise for several years doing that. Seems stupid to me. “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

I was hoping the Raiders were the first team to go bankrupt b/c of the NFLs leftist policies. I'm doing my part by not watching.

Its all about money. Milk the tax-payers and boost the value of the Team, so you can flip it for a Billion or two CG, 10-15 years later. Meanwhile you suck in the tax write-offs, and use your owners' box to grow your Brand. Why not?? I'd do it if I could. ` Total bullshit. That's pro-sports. There is zero loyalty anymore. Fans need to understand where they are sending their dollars. Take your kids camping or to the beach, instead of to "The Game".

I'm unhappy the team is leaving home but I'm thrilled Oakland isn't spending hundreds of millions of public dollars so a rich guy can have a place for his toy. I understand why Davis is moving the team and can't really disagree though trading the 6th largest market for the 40th may be a mistake in the long run. Vegas is willing to foot the cost of the stadium and allow Davis to maintain his ownership stake. The team moved before and I survived. I'll survive this move too. No more blackouts. RAIDERS!

Davis is kinda cool.. at last year's owners' meeting in Houston, the press knew when the meeting was over as a horde of black limos suddenly showed up by the hotel. Later a single yellow cab drove up and Davis got into it.

stupid. All of it. The Chargers will be more of a joke than they already were. Rivers might want to leave if he wants a chance to ever be more than a mediocre QB. !~God Bless the U.S. Military~! They aren't leaving right away. I can't wait to see the fans on opening day. I guessing no signs allowed and nothing throwable will be allowed through the gates. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

That's how I felt when the Rams moved to LA. It's not that I wasn't a football fan; it's not that I wasn't willing to put up my own money to buy a ticket. I just didn't think that government (State, County City) should be asked to build another stadium. We went down that path 20 years ago. They came based on a huge amount of tax dollars being thrown their way and they left as soon as the 20 year lease was up. There's still another 15 years of payments due on the bonds for that stadium. Unlike then, there is now ample evidence that these publicly financed stadium deals don't greatly benefit the community. The loss of the prestige of being an NFL city aside, these stadium deals only line the pockets of the NFL owners, not local businesses. "Some things are apparent. Brandon Marshall, who plays for the Jets, and is a talking head on Showtimes "Inside the NFL" spoke about this very subject on the air. He said something to the effect of: "The NFL needs to think long and hard before they send a lot of young players through Las Vegas every year. That's all I'm gonna say" I don't know if it had to to with players partying, gambling, or worse organized crime and access to players partying and gambling, but being a young player himself, who has conveyed a respect for the game while broadcasting, I found his comment somewhat ominous.
