The big question is, was music really way better back then or is it just that we were younger? I was just talking to a friend this week and saying that I do like some of today's artists and music but I don't see them having the staying power of the bands we grew up with. Some of "our" bands have been touring for decades, I don't really see Ariana Grande being relevant even 10 years from now.

Good point and I agree. As an example, I went to a Fleetwood Mac concert a few years ago to a packed house and they sounded as good as they did in '79' when I saw them the first time.

That is my favorite song of all. If I was condemned to have only one piece of music for the rest of my life, this version of Adventures in a Yorkshire Landscape would be the song.

I've been digging into four albums lately,

"Sink Your Teeth Into That" by Talas
"Pretty Hate Machine" by Nine Inch Nails
"Eat Em and Smile" by David Lee Roth
"Talk Show" by Talk Show

They still all hold up after all these years.

Best concert I ever attended was an all day affair Aug 20,1977 in Goppingen, West Germany. Golden Summerfest. I was in US Army there. These bands played that day:
Ted Nugent was incredible..Cat Scratch Fever was just out.

Aerosmith
Ted Nugent
Country Joe McDonald
Doobie Bros
Uriah Heep
Small Faces
Stanley Clark

Here a poster I found from the week end prior in W Berlin.. same poster and bands.

Sorry I'm late to the party. I'm about the biggest Tull fan. I've seen a lot of great bands listed and many are right up there in my book, but the progressive rock guy in me always goes back to Tull, Yes, ELP and a bit of King Crimson.

Club band back in the new wave era, Pylon. One of those Athens Georgia groups. Back when she was skinny, Vanessa was totally frantic on stage.

And some Trower Power
