What gets me is that my Dad and I made a living in a 1983 Superliner Mack. It’s Mack engine was rated at 350hp & ~1200 torque. With 10 forward gears. Also, in the late 70’s & 80’s we did everything on the farm with 1/2 ton pickups. I know technology advances, but do we have chassis and brake tech that is keeping up with advances in engine power? I’m not gonna say ANYTHING about “need” because, you know, ‘Murica. ![]() I’m still looking forward to giving this new 7.3L gasser a turn. I loved the older, pre electronic heavy, diesel trucks, but I simply can’t justify them anymore in my operation. | |||
