CTD reminds me of the quote on knowing pornography when you see it: I may not know how to define price gouging in a free market economy, but CTD definitely illustrated the concept.

Of course. You are both right. In a free market, when things get scarce outrageously inflated prices keep most people who have prepared from buying. If you take Para's advice and buy when things are plentiful you will never pay outrageously inflated prices. Still, outrageously inflated prices is what gives people options. When a hurricane hits and gas doubles in price because it's scarce who buys? The man with a full gas tank drives out of town and laughs. But the man with an empty tank is glad it's available and willing to pay the inflated price. Still, I won't buy from Cheaper Than Dirt both because they are assholes and because ammo can be found cheaper elsewhere. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

I'm not going to sit here and listen to this silly shit about there's no such thing as price gouging. You're just freaking blind. No, you're not some savvy economist type, educating we emotional yokels. You're just plain fucking blind, and you're an enabler and an ally of those who would take advantage of us. You think you're going to convince any right-thinking person in this forum that charging a hundred bucks for a single aluminum 30 round AR mag is indicative of the "free market"?? You are blind as a bat and an ally of our enemies when you try to justify their thieving bullshit. You are, quite simply, part of the problem. What CTD was doing was playing on the fears of gun owners. That's what price-gougers do. Roll that over in your mind for a second or two, professor. You take that crap out of this forum and don't let me see it from you again. The next time you try to tell us that what those assholes did in the aftermath of Sandy Hook was perfectly fine and legitimate, you'd better tell your story walkin', because I'm going to be right behind you, removing your access rights to this forum, and don't think for a solitary second that I'm kidding. Gun owners in this country should never forget what CTD did. Hear me? Never forget it, and never forgive the unforgivable. That's what we said at the time CTD pulled their disgusting shit, and some of us actually meant it. I am one of those who meant it, and there are plenty of us here. And I don't feel the need to dance around the subject and tell you that technically you're right yadda yadda, because you're not. You're entirely wrong, and when you ally yourself with our enemies, how do you expect us to see you? As a friend? LOCKED
