Isn't that precisely what we're doing? I would say yes... as well as reminding others that they might want to shop elsewhere as well. A penny saved is a government oversight.

How was the market not free at that time? manufacturers or distributors were out of products due to high sales & low production. Yes CTD was total assholes aboubt it. But I’m not gonna blame them for natural market conditions. I’m just not buying from them, especially now that conditions, supply & prices have returned to normal

You're missing the point, or just looking to lecture for no apparent reason. Yes... they had the right to raise the price and if they had a reasonable mark up as others did they wouldn't have the hostility towards them that they do. They earned that by shitting where they eat. All we're doing is reminding folks of the smell. ![]() A penny saved is a government oversight.

Of course they have a right to price gouge. I have a right to shop elsewhere and bitch about their price gouging. And, we were asked for our opinion.

I have the right to spout offensive speech, a-la church of turdboro. That doesn't mean I stick it to my customers who I interact w/ on a daily basis, in-store or online. But then, I probably wouldn't compare my business to dirt. Or lesser than dirt.

I equate them to the jerks who triple the price of gas during a disaster situation. Asshats. (And I was a local customer for years way back when.) Never again. ---------------------------------------- “The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it.”

If you're not blaming them, then you can't call them dishonest and asshloes. Sorry, but you can't have it both ways. Q

Way back when gouge-gate was happening there were similar complaints. If anyone is so stupid back then to pay those prices then they should be more pissed at themselves. Anyone can ask for price but YOU are the one making the decision. Furthermore if that makes you distrust them then by all means shop elsewhere. No need to get worked up about it - it is (was) only business even if it was a bad business. YMMV

Who's "worked up?" I'd say it's not so much worked up as it is resolved. A penny saved is a government oversight.

My point is, there’s no such thing as price gouging. So these “jerks” owe you cheap gas, because theres a hurricane? Why not buy gas before there is an emergency? & just because it’s an emergency on your part, doesn’t mean they owe you a certain price. Rising prices slows demand. Also, higher demand raises prices. They don’t know what their next cost will be to replace the item in high demand. I just hate the whole idea that someone owes somebody else something, especially at a certain price. In the case of CTD, how many magazine sales did they lose out on the hen the market stabilized? & now their reputation is a deal killer for a lot of their former customers. They made their bed, they can lay in it. I bet if everybody here could sell their P-mags for $140 tomorrow, they dare’nt use the term price gouging. The whole idea of price gouging is communist reasoning, IMO. If you don’t like it don’t buy it. Or better yet, get a retail space, get a supplier, & undercut the competition.

From time to time I get transfers in from them to brand new shooters with no real knowledge of buying and shopping for guns via the web. Cheeper Than HongKong dirt makes it easy for them. Once I've done one transfer, I steer folks to better options like Top Gun Supply, PalmettaSnake, Gab-a-grun, and Grunboker (the last three are deliberately misspelled to throw off bots). Beyond that, I never buy from them for myself. Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Airsoftguy, June 29, 2018

I can't remember ever buying anything from them but it sure sounds like they shit on a lot of folks here on the website. So, to hell with them. .....never marry a woman who is mean to your waitress.

Then, there are no reasons to cover for them with the "natural market conditions" BS, now, are there? Scums will always be scums. And, they count on the folks out there who will continue to make excuse for them with their free market lectures to others. Q

Again, I’m not “covering” for them. They operate a legal business. I do not do business with them, never even shop their site, they are dead to me. None of that means that they “price gouged”, because there is no such thing.

I've quit trying to explain Econ 101. I will say there are those who would prefer seeing empty bins (but with with low prices on them) and waitlists, and having to scurry around buying things from random no-name sources than seeing business transact at market prices. Never made any sense to me, and can't. In fact, the stockouts made people more worried about supply, drove up fear, and thus stockpiling, and so made matters far worse than if Adam Smith, Ludwig von Mises, Milton Friedman et. al. had been left in charge. But just as there are many people who I respect who don't know mechanical engineering, marketing or investing, there are lots of people I respect who don't know economics and don't feel the need to apply it. Fine. As was said about war, though, you may not be interested in economics, but economics is interested in you! ![]()

No sir. Not in a free market. Nobody is making a customer buy anything. Retailers don’t owe anyone a product at a certain price, just like customers don’t owe a retailer their business at any price. It’s actually a very simple concept.
