I think it's too late for that. The shortage is as bad as it's likely to get. I filled my freezer over the last several weeks. But I still occasionally see deals.

I haven't been to Costco since February with the exception of getting gas, Sam's Club has been very good, no mask requirements, no waiting in line outside, they do a decent job with supply and the checkout lines are much easier now. Only reason I haven't cancelled Costco is o have a pair of pants to return there. I think Costco's more affluent clientele hit the stores quicker and more often in this than Sam's Club. Sam's hasn't had decent toilet paper in months, but they have the industrial half ply POM. I'm still sitting on the 2 45 packs I bought back in February when I also bought a big gulp of hand sanitizer. Heck, they even had hand sanitizer a week ago, half as much for the same price but it wasn't Members Mark. The only reason i have both memberships is I got it for the wife one yr as a birthday present.

There is only one COSTCO in all of northern AZ so it's always busy and picked over. We did buy meats there but they're been low on beef for the past two months and chicken, non existent. So we bought a 20cf freezer and are currently stocking it with beef and pork from local farms and ranches. It might cost a bit more, but there's no maze of carts to enter and no masks required. I won't return there until they drop the bank robbery mask requirement...

I decided to go tonight, because Trader Joe's was being more draconian and limiting people inside to 6 or something. The amount of plexiglass used in Costco for safety/theatrics reminded me of living in South St Louis. They were out of fresh ground beef, but had plenty of frozen patties, I am trying their brats because they say no MSG, I didn't see any inflated prices from their already inflated prices (seriously, Sam's Club is usually cheaper on non-Kirkland items).

Went to Costco last Saturday. ZERO beef of any kind. No steaks, burger, roasts, not even the prime cuts. I went looking for lamb instead, no racks. Only choice was pork or fish. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

Great beef at Costco. I rarely buy it anywhere else. If Costco's prices are up (they are), other stores for comparable quality beef are as well.

I picked up four pounds of 90% Bison for $3.80ish a pound today at Samsclub. It was the only ground meat they had in stock. A penny saved is a government oversight.

I suspect a number of restaurants here that are currently closed source Prime beef from Costco and there’s a temporary excess inventory they needed to move because I paid $11.99/lb a couple days ago for an entire tenderloin and it’s usually $19.99/lb for Prime. For $90 I have fifteen 8 oz prime filet mignons vacuum packed and frozen, ready to sous vide as needed. I should have gotten two of them at that price but freezer space didn’t allow for it.

We just got home from Costco. Brisket is $2 a pound more. Lack of lots of stuff. Upside, store was a ghost town. Still bought a whole brisket and will break it down myself. The “lol” thread

I had a little blowout with Costco. They stopped me and said I had to wear a mask and I said no thanks, this is still America. They said it was required and had a mask for me. I said yeah, I’m not doing that shit, I’ll go somewhere else. Not sure if I’ll ever go back. ----------------------------------------- Roll Tide! Went to Costco yesterday. First time I put a mask on ever. It made me realize how many other shoppers there either wore them incorrectly or just left them hanging. I'm an 'essential' (don't get me started) worker so it's not like I don't go out. I'm out every day and the mask thing is silly. On the bright side I'd still rather buy my own meat and cook it how I want rather than eating out. I'm still saving a metric shit ton versus eating out. Cheers~

I might be missing a point here, but I really don't see why masks at Costco are such a big deal. A person might have been exposed, might be an unknowing "carrier," and Costco is requesting that everyone wear masks to help minimize infecting others. It doesn't cost anything, if a customer does not have a mask Costco will offer one at no cost. I look at this as a minor inconvenience, not really significant. Costco is a private membership facility. I am far more irritated at having to be inspected when I exit, implying that I might be a shoplifter, than I am at being asked to wear a mask that is given to me at no cost. Seems to me that people who are cancelling memberships because of the mask policy are making a mountain out of a molehill. My opinion, yours might be different. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

Maybe I’m slow, but would someone please fill me in on why Costco requiring a mask makes people cancel their membership? I personally only see benifit in more people wearing real masks (not face coverings, yes I’m aware Costco’s policy doesn’t distinguish between the two). You keeping your spittle to yourself and me keeping my spittle to myself seems like a win for both of us. And last I checked business that had requirements like “no shoes, no shirt, no service” were still very much American; this doesn’t seem any different. I’m reminded of the “rebels” I occasionally read in the news about, who try to get past Costco’s exit without having their receipt checked. Not trying to stir the pot, genuinely want to know why some feel it’s a big deal to require a face mask for entry.

Canceled my membership. Their profits are from their membership fees, selling products covers expenses. I can do without them. Sam's Club is just 2 miles further from Costco. _____________

Private property, private rules that you must respect to enter. I believe the issue with Costco is that it is a membership that requires a contract. Costco has unilaterally changed the terms of the original deal. I do not wear a mask in general, but I do have one with me. I had to wear one to get my hair cut the other day, and I will wear one when working around an elderly customer. I'm respecting their wishes while on their property. If I had a choice I wouldn't because I see no benefit, and that's apparently what those who are canceling their memberships are doing. Making a choice to shop with somebody else who doesn't impose silly restritions.

Every time you put on a mask 7 bald eagles are slaughtered and three flags burnt. I'm fine with the masks, many think it's some kind of infringement on their rights. So rather than wearing them, they cancel their memberships. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis
