Got the new Permit in the mail today, That's 7 days total, 5 working days including mail time.

Pretty good turn around for FL...
Wife and I did our last renewal at the Dept. of Agriculture office on South OBT. Turn-around time was about 20 minutes.
Yeah Could have gone to the Casselberry office, but don't care to wait in line at a government office, click, done, and back in a week.
That 20 minutes that I quoted was the total time, from walking in the door until walking out with the new permits. The very short wait time is probably because we went to a Dept. of Agriculture office (the department that actually issues the permits), rather than a DMV office like Casselberry, which serves all kinds of motor vehicle and property tax stuff and acts as an intermediary between the customer and the Dept. of Agriculture, and these offices (DMV / County Tax offices) generally have significant wait times.

For initial issue of the carry permit, the Dept. of Agriculture offices work on an appointment basis, and it's about 40 minutes in the office. Renewals are done without appointment, and are a very streamlined process.

Thank you for explaining. I have a close nephew who lives in Washington. This gives me something to consider.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Same goes for Nevada. I have a CA and also an Arizona permit because Nevada doesn't recognize CA.

Its a quick process, but anytime I've gone to a government office in Orange county it's a hassle since I don't Habla de espanya and everyone in line does... Plus I'm not driving into Orange county and paying tolls if I can avoid it.

For me it's click and wait in the casa for the mailman...

Understood, and you took an option that was convenient. We went in on a day that we were in that part of town for something else, so it was, "as long as we're here, let's get this done, too."

Bottom line, it's pretty straightforward and easy in Florida, no matter which way you do it.

Now, if Publix would stock Clausen garlic pickles, all would be well with the world.
