Will be interesting to see if Constitutional carry has any effect on LTC classes/costs.

When we went to Constitutional carry here in Arizona, the amount of classes available dropped considerably, but there are still plenty around.

But even better, the price of the classes dropped radically also.

It was interesting to see how many Instructors were opposed to Constitutional Carry...because of an abundance of caution...not. It was because it put a dent in their wallets.

They should adjust their training courses then. They assume people are going to carry so adjust the material. Maybe have a course on actually carrying and have some examples of different methods of carrying.

Need to adjust their business models depending on the times.

the curriculum is dictated by the state and also must meet certain standards to be accepted by other states. I've been out of the classroom and shooting requirements for many years, so I have no idea what they teach now.

Same thing already happened a couple of times here.

Originally, the CCW course was 2 eight hour days, then it dropped to one eight hour day, then a 4 hour. The local instructors fought each change tooth and nail. They sounded just like the liberal anti gun people, blood in the streets and all that crap.

It kind of surprised me they'd see it that way, but when you mess with a man's rice bowl, you can expect a pretty violent response.

My permit is coming up at the end of the year.
Where I'm at (behind the lines), the Sheriff has allowed the town PD to issue as a professional courtesy however, the new chief of the PD seems to be dragging their feet (with a dose of pressure from progs in town govt) with new issue or, renewals. The Sheriff is hearing the people's frustration and getting ready to take back over the process to begin issuing if the PD doesn't get on with it.

Renewed my permit this summer. Ohio permit Is free for veterans. Made an appointment walked in didn’t have to wait. Got to say hi to Bill (county sheriff) while I was there.

I wanted to keep my permit for travel because of reciprocal agreements.

Lifetime permit in Indiana. Used to be every 4 years iirc. I've had a carry permit since 1978.

You live in AZ but have a Utah permit. May I ask what's the thinking behind this? Do you have an AZ permit? Do you have any other state CCW permit?

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Michigan was an online renewal. They just reuse your digital drivers license photo on file.

I got my first Tennessee permit in 2013 and renewed in 2018. The renewal was by mail or online, nothing else required.

Was it dated effective the day received or tacked on to your current license expiration date?

Counties have been forced to adopt the state's Permitium system, is SD County backed-up because not enough admin clerks to do the processing?

I recently received a letter stating that my LTC would expire in Jan on my birthday. I figured I should go ahead and submit it online asap…because you know..the government.
Maybe a week…week and a half I got the new one. It’s valid immediately and expires on my birthday 2028(5 years). There’s actually no line that shows when it valid, just when it expires. I got the veteran discount. They also changed the background.

Renewal is pretty painless here in PA. At least in my county. Ours are good for five years & they send you a notice that your permit is about to expire. You can print out the form & send it in, or you can go to the Sherriff's office & do it in person. We always just go in & do it. It takes about 15 minutes & you walk out with your new license. They even take a new pic & laminate it.

Wife and I did our last renewal at the Dept. of Agriculture office on South OBT. Turn-around time was about 20 minutes.

Yeah Could have gone to the Casselberry office, but don't care to wait in line at a government office, click, done, and back in a week.

I also have an Arizona CCW. I have the Utah permit because Washington State doesn't recognize Arizona permits, but they do recognize Utah permits and I have a long time friend who owns a big chunk of Whidbey Island and want to carry when I go visit him.
