Mark, I'll try to keep it in mind, and try to avoid it if I think of it. No skin off my teeth to try and help someone else out.

Ha. A few weeks ago I may have crashed into the barely running shit box that was blocking the non ethanol pump for ten minutes. Oops. Sorry about that. Now that you are awake, would you kindly move your 45 year old piece of shit out of the way? Thanks. I acted like a complete buffoon but he got the point.

Entitlement.

You're at the pump I want. Move. I want it.

I'm in a hurry. I want that pump. I'll ram you if I need to get what I want. You were here first and I didn't plan ahead enough to get my fuel when I wasn't in a hurry, but I'm more important and I want the pump you are using. Get out of my way. the world revolves around me.

Entitlement.

Fuck you.

Just as a public service announcement, let me mention something. If there are special pumps, either diesel or non-ethanol fuel, and you don’t need that type of fuel, please consider moving to another pump. Those of us that need those types of fuel are usually in a hurry and need to get working. And for the sweet love of all that is holy, if you see someone waiting for a pump, move your car before going in to buy your lottery tickets and chat with the cashier for 15 minutes.

Thanks.

I see what you are saying but you would be far better off filling up at less busy times. There is just not that much money to be made selling gas believe it or not. Gas has thin profit margins compared to the convenience store part. The real money comes from people going inside to the convenience store part. Gas, diesel, non-ethanol fuel are there to attract foot traffic for the convenience store. So you see the business owner wants people to get gas AND go inside to the store part and buy more stuff. That is just the way it is.

I mentioned it on page two. I do go at off peak times. Always. That’s what brought on my complaint. One other person in the entire place, chooses the most inconvenient pump for him as well. To choose another pump would have been better for him also.

I’m not making demands. I’m asking for courtesy. It’s a request. It’s easy to do. It doesn’t cost you anything, not even time.

I see a couple of polar opposites here. As I was reading the OP I understood the complaint as, "people camp out in front of a pump that has limited availability and really hold things up"

I agree. When I fuel up I usually pull in, swipe my card, fill up, and move my vehicle so the pump is free. That seems to be the most efficient for everyone. Most of the time I never go into the establishment but if I needed to I would move my vehicle so I am not needlessly occupying a spot that someone else could use.

I also choose my pump in such a manner as to leave limited access pumps available to those who need them. I am there first and I could choose any pump I desire but I don't have any special needs so I make my choice in such a way as to leave things open for others.

Then again, I usually fill up when my gauge reads 1/2 so if my preferred station looks like a shit show I move on.

I do recall being stymied a time or two while driving my RV and agree that people can be very inconsiderate. Why block a pump unnecessarily?

Yes, exactly. Especially when it costs them no extra time or effort.

I pull up at the island , pull all the way forward if possible . Swipe the card , pump the gas and move on . I take care of business and I get out of the way . That's as far as I'm going . I'm not going to play musical gas pumps trying to accommodate every possible scenario that could occur in the less than 10 minutes it takes for me to fuel up .

This is where I am at, you said it much more succinctly.

No one is asking for that. Just asking for consideration if you know the gas station and where the different pumps are.

Problem solved.
I use non-ethanol in my equipment. There’s only one pump and if I want gas in the truck as well, there is only one way I can pull into the station. Apparently, it’s the most popular pump in the station. There are 15 other pumps at the place I use.
Although I sympathize with your frustration, it's hard to fully do so. There are NO non-ethanol pumps within 50 miles of me. If I absolutely had to have it, it would be at least an hour's drive each way and using up 4-5 gallons of gas to get there and back. Just be glad you have access to it.

Just some info for you. Many of the Top Tier gas stations offer E0 in their mid octane fuel. More $, but no need to drive to Oklahoma for E0 if that's your thing. Usually available at all pumps. Quicktrip (which seems to be on every corner) 90 octane is E0. Same goes for Costco. I run Quicktrip 90 octane in winter as the regular winter gas around here sucks. Also use it in my small engines.

If there are other open pumps and you go camp on the only one with clear gas or diesel, you are a dick. You’re the same person who walks by five unoccupied normal toilets so you can go camp on the single available handicap seat.

I’m certain there are times when people just don’t notice the bright green or yellow pump handle. But yeah.

You could have stopped right there. And they're everywhere.

Here at a local WaWa, we actually have people who will park in front of a pump, lock up, and go into the store and order lunch. That's right, park, not fuel up. When I asked one woman why she parked as she did (also in front of the non-ethanol fuel), her answer was priceless...because it's shady at the pump and the car stays cooler while she's inside.
