So are you going to try the McRib now, StorminNormin?

It’s not the greatest sandwich ever, but it’s kind of a novelty. FWIW, it’s actually better this year than it has ever been. I honestly think they changed something.

If anything it’s worth a try, just so you can check it off the list.

I will probably give it a try. I will post if I do.

This exactly! Not sure why this sandwich gets so over analyzed as it does?
Just a nice seasonal treat.

If it were available all year I would likely eat ZERO a year.

This thread helps too, like updating it each year.

“This is an old thread “

Haven’t seen anyone here posting this yet. Anyone get one yet? I’ll be on the lookout.

I will be on the hunt this weekend.

I do enjoy the novelty, the taste, the pickles and slivered onions.

Haters gonna' hate.

This has to be the best thread on Sigforum, because it always reminds me when it's time for the nasty indulgence again. Don't know why but I do love these things, everything else except Fish sandwich I can live without.

I'm going to try making these...I'll have to cut the recipe into a quarter of what this guy makes.

Homemade rib sandwich.

In college we called reconstituted rib meat sandwich moldings "bat signals". They look like it.

Word to the wise - do not eat a McRib one handed while working at your computer as the meat may tend to squirt out of the bun like a bar of soap in a prison movie.

Had a McRib for a late lunch yesterday after volunteering at the Richmond Marathon. I remember cooking these when it was first introduced. I think too much sauce ruins a good thing. But, it is good to enjoy one every year.

Well, I went today, meat has gotten so thin it no longer has the fake rib imprints, and they must have changed the sauce too. Could barely taste it, going to try one more but it is not worth what they are charging for it.

I’m glad that this thread was bumped to the top. I forgot about this gloriously beautiful sandwich. Just need a McRib and some hot mustard sauce and we are good to go!

I had one tonight…it has been too many years since my last one. No fake rib imprints this year, and the ‘meat’ had absolutely no flavor. If it wasn’t for the sauce and onions, there would have been nothing to taste!

  • It was OK
  • It was definitely smaller than I remember
  • For $4 more, I could have had a pulled pork sandwich from an actual BBQ joint along with 2 sides (e.g. mac & cheese and cole slaw)
  • I thought about getting a McRib today, but then I remembered how mediocre the 2024 sandwich was. Instead, I got a Pulled Pork sandwich from a legit BBQ joint and had slaw and potato salad as sides. 1/3 lb of perfectly cooked pulled pork goodness Cool
